Years ago, I posted a blanket request for Good Books to Read on social media. Someone suggested The Goldfinch, which I picked up and hated so much that I actually started reading The Sisters Brothers by Patrick deWitt before I even finished it. I loved that book, because it was funny, but also because it felt like something horrible could happen at any minute, like a Tarantino flick. They managed to capture that tone with the cast for The Sisters Brothers movie, including Joaquin Phoenix, John C. Reilly, Jake Gyllenhaal and, holy crap, Rutger Hauer!
