Ike Barinholtz

MOVIE REVIEW: A Chat with the Writer/Director/Star of “The Oath” Ike Barinholtz

This Thanksgiving is going to be tough for those of us who don’t share political views with our families. Most of us will just avoid the topic of politics, but what if you couldn’t? What if your political choices found a way to walk right into your home and threaten those who disagreed with them, on Thanksgiving Day? Who would you chose to protect first? Your family or your beliefs?
These are the questions that writer, director and star, Ike Barinholtz tries to address in The Oath, which opens nationwide this weekend. I got to sit down with Ike, and talk about the transition from acting to writing and the slippery slope of political-satire. We also discussed his penchant for working with awesome women, like Mindy Kaling, Amy Poehler and now, Tiffany Haddish. Watch the interview below and check out The Oath before Thanksgiving rolls around and it’s your turn for an awkward family visit!
The Oath is rated R and you can buy tickets HERE.
