Remember all the times you lusted after Christian Bale in those Batman movies? Or maybe you left American Psycho all thirsty from the shower scene, even though he was playing a sadistic bastard. We’ve all had our Christian Bale thoughts, but check him out in that photo above. Believe it or not, that’s him playing Dick Cheney in the movie Vice. Bale is not the only creative-casting choice from this movie either. Sam Rockwell plays a young George W. Bush and Amy Adams plays the Vice-President’s wife, Lynne Cheney in this story of the their time in office. So, who wants to see Vice EARLY and FOR FREE? Continue reading →
Is it weird that I don’t really CARE if the new Justice League movie is good? My expectations are so low now, after Batman v. Superman and then the shocking let-down that was Suicide Squad. Wonder Woman was a refreshing surprise, but I don’t know if she and that golden-lasso are strong enough to save this whole movie. Jason Mamoa plays Aquaman in Justice League though and, if I were completely honest with you, I’d probably say that’s enough for me. It’s always better to see a potentially disappointing movie for free though, right? Continue reading →
It isn’t easy to watch myself on TV. Sometimes, I talk too fast and forget things. Other times, I mispronounce actors’ names or use words that don’t exist. Today, I managed to do all four on Good Morning Texas, and even worked in the word “fictitional.” Nope, it’s not a word. I did, however, get to review new movies like Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, Arrival, and Manchester By the Sea. I also got to talk about some upcoming flicks I’m jazzed about, like Nocturnal Animals and Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Click HERE to watch the segment. Special THANKS to Pete Delkus, who joined Jane McGarry and I in our movie-chat. Sorry I went total FAN GIRL on you, Delkus!
I’m sorry but Nocturnal Animals looks freaking incredible. It’s the latest from Director/Fashion Designer/Texas Native Tom Ford, and is based on the popular Austin Wright book Tony and Susan. Nocturnal Animals stars Amy Adams, as a woman whose ex-husband (played by Jake Gyllenhaal) writes a violent thriller that seems to be about her. She reads the manuscript when she finds out he’s coming to visit, which is when Nocturnal Animals becomes a movie within a movie. So, how’d you like to see it EARLY and FOR FREE? Continue reading →
Arrival is already a front-runner for Best Picture and Best Director in this year’s Oscar race. Amy Adams is on the short-list of potential Best Leading Actress nominees as well, thanks to her role in Arrival. It’s also currently getting 100% on the website Rotten Tomatoes, which means they can’t find a film critic who has a bad thing to say about it anywhere. That’s quite a feat. So, do you want to see Arrival early and for free? Continue reading →
I can’t tell you how much I love this time of year. There’s a chill in the air (OK, not really but there’s the promise of one), PSLs are everywhere and I can no longer take my youngest to Walgreen’s because their scary Halloween decorations are out. The BEST part about this time of year though, is how the movie studios start releasing GREAT FILMS. Yes, Oscar Season is right around the corner and it’s packed with movies you currently know nothing about. Some of the films getting the most Oscar Buzz will be released next month, which is why I compiled this list of Oscar Contenders to See this November. Continue reading →
Are you even capable of being excited about anything other than Star Wars: The Force Awakens right now? I get it. I feel the exact same way but they’re releasing a new trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice tonight and it’s hard NOT to get a little jazzed about it (Yes, even IF you’re still pissed at Ben Affleck for the whole nanny thing). That’s going to air on Jimmy Kimmel Live at 11:35/10:35 Central and they even made an exclusive sneak to get us pumped. It doesn’t show Wonder Woman though, so I don’t think it really counts.
Catch the full NEW trailer tonight and if you somehow missed the full-length Comic-Con trailer, take a little look at THIS:
