I saw the 2017 adaption of Stephen King’s IT with some girlfriends, then we got cocktails and discussed it. Thanks to Rebekah Black, Tracy Martin Taylor and Adelfa Cardenas for joining me in the podcast. Especially Adelfa, who never read or saw the original IT and based her review on the video’s COVER! Listen to the podcast below Continue reading →
It’s been AGES since Boozy Movies got together for a movie and booze but we FINALLY did for The Martian. I have a few disclaimers though, before you listen to the podcast:
1) I say, about midway through the review, “That’s how smart guys are.” I meant to say “That’s how smart ASTRONAUTS are.” No, I don’t think that all men are smart enough to stay alive on Mars. Also,
2) Rebekah laughs about the movie He Named Me Malala at the end of the review but she DIDN’T KNOW WHAT IT WAS ABOUT. I told her after we stopped recording and she said, “Now I feel like a dick.” She isn’t. She’s actually really nice but I’m going to make her see He Named Me Malala with me anyway. Here’s our review and if you hear anything else in there that offends you, it was probably intended. ENJOY!
I was cruising Amazon’s new releases today and realized that 2 of my FAVORITE MOVIES from 2015 are now available on DVD. Ex Machina and It Follows are BOTH out and you’ve got to see these movies. (They’ve actually been out for a while but I’ve been on a mental-vacation all summer and am just now catching up.) Ex Machina in particular is STILL in my Top 5 Movies of 2015. Here’s the Boozy Movies Podcast we did for it, if you missed it the first time. WARNING: There’s extensive talk about body-hair. Continue reading →
I watched Ted 2 with Sybil Summers and Richie Whitt last night. We were also lucky enough to have guest Film Critic, Mark Walters from Bigfanboy.com join us. In the process, I drank lots of wine and admitted to a Seth MacFarlane fetish that I am now more than a little embarassed about. We also had what Mark called “the most awkward ending” of any podcast EVER, which I tried to edit out but only managed to make it worse. Apologies in advance for that. Otherwise, here’s our review of Ted 2. Enjoy!
We were lucky enough to catch an early screening of Magic Mike XXL and to be honest, things got out of hand. There were stacks of fake money and hot guys dancing on boxes, and that was before the movie even started! I was joined by the usual Boozy Movies Film Critics; Rebekah Black, Sybil Summers and Richie Whitt but we also had a Special Guest Critic, Jasmine Sadry from Jagger Mornings on 102.1 the Edge! Here’s what we thought of the movie and well….someone just MIGHT have to turn in their Film-Critic Card.
I saw San Andreas last night with Richie Whitt and Rebekah Black, then we had pink, fluffy cocktails and chatted about it. Sybil Summers didn’t join us this week because she thought it looked like a stupid movie. SHE WAS WRONG!
You could be like Sybil and assume the worst, or you could listen to our podcast and find out for sure.
Make sure you grab free passes to see Melissa McCarthy in Spy with us NEXT week. You can do that by clicking HERE. Richie Whitt assumes THAT ONE will be bad but you know what happens when you ASSUME things, right? You make an Ass-Hat…or something.
It’s been one crazy, emotional week and the hormones SURE haven’t helped. I might have let it all hang out in this podcast. Now I need a drink and NO, not coffee.
The “Julie Says So” Podcast is sponsored by Veecaravan. Don’t forget that their Pop-Up Shop is THIS WEEKEND! Make sure you drop by & say HI!
Julie Fisk, Sybil Summers & Richie Whitt went to see “Hot Pursuit” and STRUGGLED to talk about anything other than Sofia Vergara’s boobs afterwards. Special thanks to Linda Aycock (Sybil’s Mom) for joining us. She was ADORABLE!
I didn’t like superhero movies in 2012, when I went to see the first Avengers. I remember looking at my movie-buddy Rebekah Black and saying, “This is gonna suck.”
What can I say? Sometimes I’m really REALLY wrong.
We were BEYOND pumped about this new treat from Joss Whedon but also a little scared. Would it compare to the first? Would it suck so bad that we’d stop liking the Avengers altogether? What if it was so awful that even THOR lost his sex-appeal. Yeah, that’s not gonna happen but listen to the podcast to hear our thoughts.
Also MAD PROPS TO OUR SPONSORS: Chopshop Sports Garage, Kenichi Dallas, Three Squares in Frisco and Shooters in Dallas. Click the links to find out where you can find those guys. Please support them because they’re awesome local businesses AND because they supported us…which is wonderful!
The band was back together this week! Richie Whitt, Sybil Summers, Rebekah Black and I saw “Ex Machina” and WOW! We were so inspired by this one that we waxed poetic like real Film Critics. Well, the Jamesons helped. Listen to the podcast and sorry about all the pubic-hair talk.
