Felicity Jones & Eddie Redmayne

The Aeronauts brings Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne together again (they both starred in The Theory of Everything), but the real star of this film is a hot-air balloon. It’s used to break records and make scientific discoveries in the 1860’s, but becomes a death-trap in the process. The Aeronauts will hit theaters December 6th (before it’s Amazon Prime debut December 20th) but you can see it on the big screen EARLY and FOR FREE! Felicity Jones

On the Basis of Sex sounds like some dirty comedy that would star Dakota Johnson or Rebel Wilson, but it’s actually quite the opposite. This movie tells the story of Ruth Bader Ginsburg and how she challenged gender-discrimination laws during the early years of her career. It stars Felicity Jones as Ginsburg, before she ever became a Supreme Court Justice, and Armie Hammer as her husband, Marty. So, who wants to see On the Basis of Sex EARLY and FOR FREE? A Monster Calls

Is it just me or was Felicity Jones in every movie that came out this year? OK, after cruising her IMDB page, I realize she was only in 4 movies in 2016, but when those include Rogue One: A Star Wars Story AND the new Dan Brown movie Inferno, it sure SEEMS like every movie. Now Felicity Jones stars in A Monster Calls, about a little boy who befriends a monster while coping with his mother’s illness. I’ve seen this one and it’s beautiful, as well as terribly sad. It also has a message about humans and how confusing our behavior is at times, which I think is terribly important at the end of a tumultuous year. Even better, we get to see A Monster Calls EARLY and FOR FREE! Just click HERE to grab those free passes, then watch the trailer below. Also, in case you were wondering, that IS Liam Neeson’s wonderful voice as The Monster.

Rogue One

MOVIE REVIEW: Does “Rogue One” Live Up to Its “Star Wars” Roots?

I was completely confused for the first hour of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, probably because I missed part of it. See, the elevator I rode from the parking garage to the theater malfunctioned and took me on a joy-ride. I screamed and created new swear words, but it continued it’s tour from the top floor to the bottom for about five straight minutes. The elevator finally dumped me on the last floor, forcing me to take the stairs and by the time I got to the theater, I was sweaty, on the verge of tears, and a full ten minutes late.

It’s too bad because there’s an awful lot of information being crammed into that first half of Rogue One. Director Gareth Edwards (Godzilla, Monsters) has to introduce us to several new members of the rebellion, give them important backstories AND explain where this movie stands on the Star Wars timeline (between Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: A New Hope). MOVIE REVIEW: “Inferno” Brings Dante Babble & Nausea

I wish I could tell you all about Inferno, the latest big-screen adaptation of the Dan Brown book. I truly wish I could give you a quick and concise summary about Robert Langdon (played by Tom Hanks) and his most recent escapade but I’M STILL COMPLETELY CONFUSED. Continue reading →

Discussing OCTOBER MOVIES on “Good Morning Texas”

I joined Jane McGarry on Good Morning Texas today to talk about all the big October Movies we have to look forward to. We chatted about Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, and how I have an awful Girl Crush on his co-star, Cobie Smulders. We also talked about Jon Hamm in Keeping Up With the Joneses and some scary flicks that are coming out just in time for Halloween. Hanks and Jones

So, did you read Inferno? What is Harvard professor Robert Langdon up to these days? You know, the main character from those Dan Brown books who’s always getting in trouble with the Vatican, the Iluminati and this time around, a group called The Consortium? I wouldn’t honestly know because I haven’t read a Dan Brown book since The Da Vinci Code back in 2003. See, other people complain about Hollywood making movies out of books but I, for one, am thrilled. It’s rare that I get to curl up with a book anymore so I’m fine with big screen adaptations starring people I enjoy, like Tom Hanks and Felicity Jones. Even better, I haven’t read Inferno, so I’ll have no idea if the book is better than the movie! Want to see it EARLY and FOR FREE with me? Click HERE to grab a free pair of passes, then watch the trailer below. Uh-oh, looks like Robert Langdon is in real trouble this time!
