If you were drowning in an ocean, would you rather have Zac Efron save you or Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson? Yes, I know it’s a stupid question but they’re both starring as lifeguards in the big-screen version of Baywatch, so answer it anyway. Sure, Zac is all gorgeous and talented but I’m not sure he could drag my screaming, thrashing body out of the water. The Rock, on the other hand, would throw me over his shoulder and glide to shore without even a splash. You know he’d have that patented Concerned-Dwayne-Johnson scowl on his face the whole time, too. Hmmm, while we’re pondering this very important question, why don’t you go ahead and grab passes to see the new Baywatch? Continue reading →
If I’m being perfectly honest, I’d admit that I haven’t been a fan of Johnny Depp for years now. I’m not entirely sure why that is. Maybe he did too many stinkers like Mordecai and Dark Shadows, or maybe it’s just been too long since I’ve seen him without wigs and make-up. Whatever the reason, I no longer love Johnny Depp UNLESS he’s playing Captain Jack Sparrow. I even liked the last Pirates of the Caribbean: Stranger Tides (one of the few critics who DID), because of the delicious back-and-forth between Captain Jack and his ex-girlfriend, Angelica (Penelope Cruz). Depp gets better to me each time he dons the dreadlocks and boots, which is why I’m giving away passes to see Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. Continue reading →
Have you ever seen a movie trailer and thought, “Where the HELL did that come from? Why haven’t I heard about this movie???”
Well, that’s how I felt when I watched the trailer for the based-on-actual-events movie Gold. It stars Matthew McConaughey as the head of a failing mining company, who heads to Indonesia in search of gold. The treasure trove that should solve his problems eventually lands him in hot water, which is when Gold supposedly gets great. Click HERE if you’d like to see Gold EARLY and FOR FREE, then watch the trailer below. Also, let’s send props to McConaughey for shaving his head and gaining 25 pounds to look less attractive for this role. I’m sure his wife just LOVED that.
You probably know that Fences has already been nominated for 2 Golden Globes. Denzel Washington (who also directed it) got a Best Performance by an Actor in a Drama nod, while Viola Davis was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role. That’s great, but did you know that Fences has already won a Pulitzer Prize? See, playwright August Wilson originally brought it to the stage in 1983, and Fences went on to win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1987, as well as a Tony Award for Best Play. Pretty high praise, so how would you like to see it EARLY and FOR FREE? Continue reading →
Are you in the mood for one of those epic WWII pictures that usually come out this time of year? I hope so, because Director Robert Zemeckis (Cast Away, Forrest Gump) is delivering Allied just in time for the holidays. This one stars Brad Pitt and Marion Cotillard as an intelligence officer and resistance fighter who connect behind enemy lines. Will their relationship withstand the pressures of war or will they turn on each other? I think the real question here is whether or not YOU will be able to ignore your mixed feelings about Brad Pitt long enough to enjoy Allied. Seriously, what was that all about? It will probably help if you see Allied EARLY and FOR FREE and fortunately, I have passes! Continue reading →
We’re all still shaking our heads over the Batman v Superman disappointment we were hit with back in March. Despite that, I can’t help but get a little excited about Suicide Squad. I’m like that duck at the pond who keeps coming back to you, even when you’re just throwing rocks at it.
It’s hard to NOT get jazzed about Suicide Squad when you see Margot Robbie strutting around as Harley Quinn or you hear the stories about Jared Leto scaring co-stars as the Joker. He supposedly NEVER got out of character and even sent creepy things to them in the mail, like dead animals and used condoms. Scott Eastwood said, at one point, he wanted to call the cops on Leto. Plus, I want to see Ben Affleck play Batman again. He wasn’t my favorite part of Batman v Superman (that goes to Gal Gadot) but he came a close second.
We won’t care that it sucks if we see it for FREE, right? That’s why I’m giving away free passes! If you’d like to see Suicide Squad early and for free, just click HERE, then watch the trailer again. Omigod, QUEEN!!!
I’m not gonna lie. I feel pretty weird talking about free movies when my city is heartbroken (I’m based on Dallas. If you don’t know what that means, here’s a link: http://interactives.dallasnews.com/2016/dallas-police-ambush-timeline/?_ga=1.182964911.809238750.1461191495), but maybe you could use a free movie right now. Maybe you need something light-hearted and goofy that makes you forget about the madness for a while. If that’s the case, click HERE to get your free passes to see the Absolutely Fabulous movie, then watch the trailer below. Hope it brightens your day a little.
Two years ago, director David Sandberg released a short film called Lights Out. The movie, which starred his wife Lotta Losten as a woman who is plagued by a figure in her darkened hallway, took social media by storm. I remember watching it at work and blurting out obscenities as the lights went out. If you’ve never seen it before, take the mere 2:42 required to watch it below. Believe me, it’s worth it.
Now you understand why Lights Out has been viewed over 12 million times around the world, right? They OBVIOUSLY had to make a full-length movie out of it but here’s the big surprise…
IT’S ACTUALLY GOOD!
In fact, the big screen version of Lights Out, which stars Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies, The Choice) and Billy Burke from Twilight, is currently trending at 100% on the Film Critics website Rotten Tomatoes. Even better, I have passes to see it EARLY and FOR FREE so grab those by clicking HERE, then watch the Lights Out trailer below. Dammit, I might not ever sleep AGAIN!
Did you realize that The BFG was written by Roald Dahl, directed by Steven Spielberg and released by Disney?
That has to be one of strongest Film Trifectas I’ve ever heard of!
It stars Oscar winner Mark Rylance as a giant who befriends a lonely young girl and brings her to his home in Giant Country. It’s not entirely safe though, because the other giants prefer to eat people. Can their friendship survive, as the other giants become increasingly more dangerous? How can they warn the rest of the world about giants, when no one else believes in them?
The BFG opens in theaters July 1st, which would have been Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday, but you can see it EARLY and FOR FREE! Just click HERE, then watch the trailer below. Oh dear, it’s probably not a good sign that I just cried through THAT.
It’s possible that Finding Dory will be the biggest hit of the summer. If that’s the case, wouldn’t you rather see it early AND for free? Because that’s just what we’re gonna do! Click HERE to get free passes to see Finding Dory, then take a second to watch the trailer again. Don’t forget about the Dory After Dark Double Feature, too. You can watch Finding Nemo followed by Finding Dory Thursday June 16th. You’ll have to buy those tickets from the theater directly, so find the one nearest you by clicking HERE.
