Game Night

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Game Night” EARLY & FOR FREE

Do you remember The Game? That David Fincher movie starring Michael Douglas and Sean Penn? It’s about a guy who gets caught up in some weird game (hence the name), so he can’t tell what’s real-life and what isn’t? It’s good, but also kind of awful because it’s just two hours of screaming, “Is it real or not? Because I don’t want to watch this movie anymore!”
I thought of The Game immediately when I saw the trailer for Game Night.
It stars Jason Bateman and Rachel McAdams as a couple who join friends for a Murder Mystery Game that might not be a game after all. Or is that PART of the game? See, that’s how it’s like The Game. Game Night is a Comedy though, which will hopefully keep the stress-induced screaming to a minimum.

RED SPARROW Screening

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Red Sparrow” EARLY & FOR FREE

Before I say anything about a FREE Red Sparrow SCREENING, I’d like to write an open letter to it’s star, Jennifer Lawrence.

Hey Jenn,
How’re you holding up? It’s been a weird time for you, hasn’t it? I mean, your career has turned some major somersaults since you were nominated for your first Oscar in 2011. What were you, like 20-years-old when you starred in Winter’s Bone? And you were soooo gooooood. Then you WON an Oscar only 2 years later for Silver Linings Playbook, and scored huge hits with the Hunger Games AND X-Men series. You, young Jennifer Lawrence, were adored by pretty much everyone in the world, including me, when things got wobbly. First there was Serena, then Joy, and then Passengers, which couldn’t even be saved by dirty rumors about you and Chris Pratt. You took a beating for those, then you took a LITERAL beating in the movie mother! last year. People didn’t even notice how great you were in that because they were so busy debating what the movie MEANT. And here you are in Red Sparrow, which has fans like me crossing our fingers and HOPING that it’s good. Not because we prefer GOOD movies (which we DO), but because, dammit Jennifer Lawrence, YOU ARE DUE.
So know that I’m rooting for you JLaw, and if you hear me making fun of your Russian accent in this one, it’s only because I’m jealous of all that beauty, fame and talent of yours. And GOOD LUCK!

So, who wants passes to see Red Sparrow EARLY and FOR FREE? Click HERE for those, then watch the trailer below. See what I mean about that accent? (Sorry Jenn!)

EVERY DAY

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Every Day” EARLY & FOR FREE

What if you woke up every day in the body of a different person? Wait, let me rephrase that. I mean, what if you spent every day living as a different person? And what if, at some point during that insanity, you met and fell in love with someone? Yeah, I know it’s a ridiculous concept but that didn’t stop David Levithan’s YA novel from becoming a New York Times bestseller and now a major motion picture. Every Day stars Angourie Rice (The Nice Guys, Spider-Man: Homecoming), Maria Bello (Lights Out, The Cooler), and a boat-load of other people, due to the whole different-person-every-day thing. So, wanna see Every Day EARLY and FOR FREE? Continue reading →

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See Natalie Portman in “Annihilation” EARLY & FOR FREE

If you’re a fan of the Southern Reach book series, then you already know what Annihilation is about. If you’re like the rest of us who AREN’T familiar with the books, you’ll probably watch this trailer and think, “What tha HELL is going on here?”
Natalie Portman stars as a woman who joins a dangerous expedition in hopes of saving her husband. That’s really all I could figure out, other than there’s something that looks like a bubble over everything that’s turning people into monsters. The coolest thing about Annihilation though, is the cast. Watch the trailer below and tell me what YOU think is different about it. Then grab passes to see Annihilation EARLY and FOR FREE Continue reading →

The 15 17 to Paris

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “The 15:17 to Paris” EARLY & FOR FREE

This movie is incredible to me, for many reasons. First of all, The 15:17 to Paris is based on the TRUE story of a thwarted terrorist attack, which is fascinating in itself. It also stars the actual men who were involved in that ordeal, playing themselves. The other incredible thing about The 15:17 to Paris is that Director Clint Eastwood is currently 88-years-old. Yes, 88-years-old, which means he has directed 6 movies (including the Oscar-winning American Sniper and the Oscar-nominated Sully) since turning 80.
See? Pretty freaking incredible, right?
Which is exactly why you should grab passes to see The 15:17 to Paris EARLY and FOR FREE Continue reading →

Early Man

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Early Man” EARLY & FOR FREE

Most people in the movie industry DREAD the idea of being called a Neanderthal right now or, even worse, a Cave Man. The folks at Aardman Animation (Chicken Run, Wallace & Gromit) don’t really see it that way, though. In fact, the hero of their latest release, Early Man, just happens to be a Cave Man who has to save his tribe from the evils of the Stone Age. It has a stellar cast of voice-actors too, including Tom Hiddleston, Maisie Williams and Eddie Redmayne. Even better, I have passes to see Early Man EARLY and FOR FREE! Continue reading →

PADDINGTON 2

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Paddington 2” EARLY & FOR FREE

Did you know that the new Paddington movie is currently one of the highest rated movies on Rotten Tomatoes? Yep, Paddington 2 is currently sitting at 100%, which means that 0% of the critics who’ve reviewed it have found anything negative to say about it. If you take a look at the Paddington 2 reviews (you can do that HERE), you’ll find quotes like,
“…might well be a staple of festive television for years to come,”
or “Paddington 2 won’t save the world, sadly, but it’s existence makes everything just that tiny bit better and more, well, bearable.”
There’s also this little bon mot:
“Unless you’re dead inside, you will not fail to be utterly charmed by Paddington 2.”
Sounds like those of us who aren’t dead inside should be excited!
I haven’t seen Paddington 2 yet, but I plan to do so soon and would love it if you’d join me. Continue reading →

Farmiga & Neeson

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “The Commuter” EARLY & FOR FREE

Look, I’m just going to be honest here.
I can’t figure out what the hell The Commuter is about.
I get that Liam Neeson is a businessman who happens to be on a train when Vera Farmiga (who’s a Bad Guy this time) shows up and says he has to do something awful for a whole lot of money. Oh, and Patrick Wilson is in The Commuter too, but he and Vera are not playing Ed and Lorraine Warren, which makes me kind of sad. But Jonathan Banks is in it and he’s always awesome, plus I have passes to an early screening so you don’t even have to pay to see it! Continue reading →

Bale & Studi

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Hostiles” EARLY & FOR FREE

Are you sick of the Holly Jolly B.S. of the holidays? Has the forced emotion and financial blood-letting of the season left you hollow inside, with just a simmering hint of rage?
Oh NOT ME, of course! I’m just peach-fuzzy over the tree-that-has-to-come-down, the extra six pounds I’m now carrying and staggering blankness of my bank account. No, I’m talking about all the other people who want to get back to work just so they can start repairing the wallet-damage that’s been done.
I suspect that Hostiles is the movie for all of you people (re: Us).
It stars Christian Bale as an 1892 Army captain who must escort a Cheyenne chief and his family through dangerous territory. Rosamund Pike and Wes Studi also star in what’s highly likely to end up on the Oscar’s short-list. Continue reading →
