Damon & Bale

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Ford v Ferrari” in Dallas, Houston, Austin or San Antonio

Who’s in the mood for a badass race-car movie? Even better, who’d like to watch Matt Damon get punched in the face on the big-screen? You’ll get both in Ford v Ferrari, about a race-car designer and a driver who built a revolutionary car for the Ford Motor Company. It stars Christian Bale and the above-mentioned Matt Damon and looks a little like delicious Oscar-bait. It’s also from director James Mangold, who has delivered Oscar-bait before in the form of Girl, Interrupted, Walk the Line and Logan (which YES was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay). Best of all, I have passes to FREE SCREENINGS all over Texas! Continue reading →

Harriet Tubman

Is it really possible that Harriet is the first feature-length film about Harriet Tubman? I remember watching a TV miniseries about her life called A Woman Called Moses (starring Cecily Tyson) and Octavia Spencer played her fantastically on Drunk History. Despite this (and her appearance in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter of course), Harriet will be our first chance to see one of America’s greatest heroes on the big screen. So, who wants to see Harriet EARLY and FOR FREE? Continue reading →

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “The Current War: Director’s Cut” EARLY & FOR FREE

This is odd. Here’s a movie starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Holland and Nicholas Hoult but it ISN’T a superhero flick. The Current War: Director’s Cut even has Michael Shannon but instead of playing Superman‘s nemesis, this time he plays George Westinghouse. They all come together in The Current War: Director’s Cut, which depicts the race between Westinghouse and Thomas Edison (Cumberbatch) to see who’s vision would power the modern world.
Are you thinking, “Wait a minute? Wasn’t this movie released a few years ago?”
Well, there’s a whole story behind that (which you can read HERE) but director Alfonso Gomez-Rejon won the rights to re-shoot his picture after Harvey Weinstein effectively ruined it. It’s an opportunity rarely given to directors and best of all, I have passes to Free Screenings all over Texas! Continue reading →

Angelina Jolie

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See Disney’s “Maleficent: Mistress of Evil” EARLY & FOR FREE

I remember when I first saw Maleficent in 2014, there was a woman at the screening who cried all through the ending.
Oh wait, that was me. I don’t know why, but the story of her tortured life and Maleficent’s ultimate love for her goddaughter really breaks me down. I think I’ve got a soft spot for Angelina Jolie, too. I see parallels between her real-life reputation and Jolie’s onscreen character, since they’re both as reviled as they are revered. But does she officially hit the dark-side in this film?
So, who wants to see Disney’s Maleficient: Mistress of Evil EARLY and FOR FREE? Continue reading →

Zombieland 2

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Zombieland: Double Tap” EARLY & FOR FREE

There has been an awful lot of complaining about Hollywood’s lack of fresh material lately. Why are they making sequels to everything??? Yes, it’s been a repeated gripe for years, but I bet you won’t hear anyone fussing about Zombieland: Double Tap. So, want to see it EARLY and FOR FREE? Continue reading →

Addams Family

Feel like a movie but the new Joker trailers bum you out too much? Well, take a look at the new animated version of The Addams Family! Yep, they’ve revamped the story of the original goth family and filled it with amazing actors like Charlize Theron, Oscar Isaac and Finn Wolfhard. If you’d like to see The Addams Family EARLY and FOR FREE, Continue reading →

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “The Goldfinch” Early & For Free!

If you belong to a book-club, you are pumped about The Goldfinch. This one stars Ansel Egort, Finn Wolfhard and Nicole Kidman and is based on the Pulitzer Prize winning novel of the same name. I wish I could tell you more about it but this book has been sitting unread on my nightstand for about 2 straight years now (true story). So, who wants to see The Goldfinch EARLY and FOR FREE? Continue reading →

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Hustlers” in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin & New Orleans!

How incredible is this cast? Hustlers stars Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, Cardi B, Lizzo and Lili Reinhart as former strip-club employees who turn the tables on their Wall Street clients. Even better, it’s taken from a New York Magazine article and based on a true story! You’ll be happy to know that I have passes to FREE SCREENINGS of Hustlers all over Texas, Continue reading →

Jillian Bell

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Brittany Runs a Marathon” EARLY & FOR FREE

Feeling a little sluggish right now? Maybe you could use a push to get things moving again? Brittany Runs a Marathon might be just what the doctor ordered. It stars Jillian Bell (who is honestly my favorite part of ANY movie she’s in) as a woman who decides to lay off the partying and make a genuine effort to get healthy. She discovers along the way that she might have been sabotaging herself all along. Yeah, it sounds preachy but Brittany Runs a Marathon is actually funny, relatable and, if you’re anything like me, exactly what you need to see right now. Even better, I have passes to see it EARLY and FOR FREE! Continue reading →
