FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Lights Out” ON ME!

Two years ago, director David Sandberg released a short film called Lights Out. The movie, which starred his wife Lotta Losten as a woman who is plagued by a figure in her darkened hallway, took social media by storm. I remember watching it at work and blurting out obscenities as the lights went out. If you’ve never seen it before, take the mere 2:42 required to watch it below. Believe me, it’s worth it.

Now you understand why Lights Out has been viewed over 12 million times around the world, right? They OBVIOUSLY had to make a full-length movie out of it but here’s the big surprise…

IT’S ACTUALLY GOOD!

In fact, the big screen version of Lights Out, which stars Teresa Palmer (Warm Bodies, The Choice) and Billy Burke from Twilight, is currently trending at 100% on the Film Critics website Rotten Tomatoes. Even better, I have passes to see it EARLY and FOR FREE so grab those by clicking HERE, then watch the Lights Out trailer below. Dammit, I might not ever sleep AGAIN!

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “The Legend of Tarzan” on ME!

My first introduction to Tarzan came when I was a young girl, but it had nothing to do with the book or that Disney cartoon. No, I was teenager, hopped up on hormones and watching HBO when Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes came on. I had never laid my eyes on Christopher Lambert before and seeing him in all that shirtless-long-hair-glory stirred something in my loins heart. I’ve had a bit of a fascination with the character ever since, and watched George of the Jungle more times than any full-grown woman should admit to.

Now Alexander Skarsgard is taking on the role of Tarzan? Really? The ONLY reason I watched 5 consecutive seasons of True Blood is playing the role that first lit the furnaces of my youth?

Oh, HELL YES HE IS!

Sure, there are other reasons to see The Legend of Tarzan. Margot Robbie plays the Ape Man’s true love Jane Porter while Christoph Waltz takes on the role of dangerous Captain Rom. Even Samuel Jackson plays real-life journalist George Washington Williams. He wrote an open letter to King Leopold in 1890, condemning the treatment of the Congolese so yes, there’s an actual history lesson in The Legend of Tarzan. No one will blame you if you just want to see it because of the picture above, though.

Whatever you reason is, click HERE to get free passes to see The Legend of Tarzan, then watch the trailer below. Hmmm, I wonder what Christopher Lambert is up to these days.

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Central Intelligence” On ME!

The ads for Central Intelligence say that sometimes you need a little Hart and a BIG Johnson. Makes you wonder if they didn’t just make the whole movie around that joke, right?

Well, the pairing of Kevin Hart and Dwayne Johnson certainly has fans excited, and so does the trailer featuring a pudgy, teenage version of “The Rock.” That might be worth the ticket price alone but lucky for us, we don’t have to pay for tickets! Just click HERE to snag your Central Intelligence passes, then watch the trailer again. And remember to get to the theater early! These will get you in for free but you’ll still need to get there in time to save your seat.

FREE MOVIE PASSES- Take Your Kids to See “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” On Me!

We’re big fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in our house. If you see my daughters and I out somewhere though, you have to pretend like you don’t know this.

See, we all became fans of the Nickelodeon TMNT a few years ago, but my kids got it into their heads that they weren’t supposed to be watching it. I don’t know why, but they thought girls shouldn’t LIKE the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, which is ridiculous. So, they’ve continued to watch it in private and hush me violently whenever I mention the show in front of their friends.

Despite all of this, they are thrilled to see the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows and will be even more pumped when I tell them I have free passes. If you’d like to see Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows with us, click HERE to grab a 4-pack of passes, then watch the trailer below. But remember, when you see us at the screening, you don’t know we’re fans!

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Puerto Ricans in Paris” ON ME!

Luis Guzman is an unsung hero.

This occurred to me recently while watching one of my all-time-FAVORITES, The Count of Monte Cristo. Guzman plays Edmond Dantes’ devoted friend Jacopo, but he’s also played a million other characters you’ve loved, in films like Out of Sight, Traffic, and OF COURSE Boogie Nights! That’s not even counting all the TV he’s done over the years, so it’s nice to see Luis Guzman get his name above the title in Puerto Ricans in Paris.

It stars Guzman and Edgar Garcia as New York detectives who are sent to Paris, in search of a black market thief. It’s a fish-out-of-water tale as they stumble through the world of high fashion, searching for a stolen design. Sounds like loads of fun and I have your free passes! Just click HERE to grab those, then check out the trailer below. And HOLY CLEAVAGE! How hot is Rosario Dawson?!

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Love & Friendship” On Me!

Let me just go ahead and admit to being a bit in love with Kate Beckinsale. She’s smart (left Oxford so she could focus on acting), she’s a poet (won awards for poetry she wrote as a child), and she’s a badass mom to a 17-year-old girl. In fact, when Beckinsale was asked about hugging her ex-boyfriend, Michael Sheen’s NEW girlfriend Sarah Silverman, this is what Kate said:

“She’s such a great woman. For your kids, you want obviously to be the best parent you can possibly be, but it’s really important that — especially girls — have other women in their lives that aren’t you that also bring to the table intelligence and wit and balls and all that stuff.”

Amen to THAT!

Kate is starring in the new movie Love & Friendship, which is based on a novel Jane Austen wrote when she was only 20. In fact, it wasn’t even published until after her death. In it, Beckinsale plays the devious Lady Susan, who manipulates society to ensure a proper marriage for her daughter and to pad her finances. Sooo Austen, isn’t it? Love and Friendship also has film critics breathlessly giggling over how captivating, witty and charming it is. All those descriptive words that only film critics use, and guess who has free passes?

I DO!

Even better, these are Run Of Engagement passes, which means you can see Love & Friendship at a time that works for you (Monday-Thursday at the Angelika in Plano, please). I have 4 pairs of passes, so the first 4 people who ask for them in the Comments section below can have them. Now, take a moment to watch the Love & Friendship trailer below. Oh dear GOD, she really is adorable!

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Miracles From Heaven” On Me!

Miracles From Heaven has everything a parent could want. It has inspirational messages about faith and hope and how miracles can sometimes be found in the most unexpected places. It also stars Jennifer Garner as a desperate mother, and I think we’re all cheering for Ms. Garner right now. In fact, someone just sent me this short of her reading Go the F*ck to Sleep and it’s about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen.

I imagine Jennifer Garner has cleaned up her language a great deal for Miracles From Heaven so click HERE to snag free passes to that and then watch the trailer. Oh don’t worry, this one IS safe for work!

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “10 Cloverfield Lane” On Me!

Holy Crap!

I just watched the trailer for 10 Cloverfield Lane again and got chills up and down my arms! What the hell is happening here? Speculation has run the gamut and the fact that J.J. Abrams is a producer has added to the obvious Cloverfield monster-movie connections. I can tell you that my research (meaning the 5 minutes I just spent on Google) determined that this project was around long before it was attached to Abrams and that there was originally no mention of monsters. That honestly tells us nothing so instead of speculating any further, just grab free passes to see 10 Cloverfield Lane by clicking HERE, then watch that freaky trailer again. Seriously, what the hell is happening here?!!!
