FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Ant-Man & the Wasp” EARLY & FOR FREE

I know we’re all excited about seeing Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly in Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, but something’s been bothering me.
Have you gotten a good look at the Wasp’s outfit?

Evangeline Lilly
Do YOU see it???

I was a little put-off by the weird boob-cups when I first saw it, so I hit Google to see if I was alone. Imagine my surprise when HelloGiggles.com pointed out something I had completely missed. You can read about that HERE, but you’ll never look at the Wasp in costume without having dirty-thoughts again.
You still want to see Ant-Man and the Wasp though, don’t you? Especially if you can see it EARLY and FOR FREE! Continue reading →

Fred Rogers

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Won’t You Be My Neighbor” EARLY & FOR FREE

Why do you think everyone is flipping out over Won’t You Be My Neighbor? This documentary about Fred Rogers and his Mr. Rogers’ Neighborhood has been blowing audiences out of the water at film festivals everywhere. Even it’s trailer moves most people to tears (me included) with long forgotten images of Mr. McFeely, Lady Aberlin and of course, those famous blue sneakers. What is it about this TV show and especially this man that seems so important and necessary right now? Could it be Fred Rogers’ commitment to children, or to honesty, or his continued assertion that everyone is special and deserving of love? I don’t know, but I’m tearing up just thinking about it and simply can’t wait too see this movie! So, do you want to see Won’t You Be My Neighbor EARLY and FOR FREE? Continue reading →

Woodley & Claflin

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Adrift” EARLY & FOR FREE

Imagine meeting the love of your life, who then asks you to sail across the ocean with him? Sounds pretty romantic doesn’t it? Well, that’s exactly what happened to Tami Oldham and it was just as beautiful as it sounds, until they sailed right into a massive hurricane. Oldham wrote a book about their journey, called Red Sky in Mourning: A True Story of Love, Loss and Survival at Sea, which has been turned into the movie Adrift (starring Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin). It looks pretty incredible and, after her brilliant performance in Big Little Lies, I’d watch Shailene Woodley in anything. If you feel the same way, Continue reading →

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Book Club” EARLY & FOR FREE

If you’re looking for a cheap (or FREE) Mother’s Day gift for Mom, this Book Club screening might be just the thing. This movie stars Diane Keaton, Jane Fonda, Candice Bergen and Mary Steenburgen as women whose lives are changed after reading Fifty Shades of Grey. Even better, it pairs 80-year-old Jane Fonda up with 68-year-old Don Johnson! He was paired up with 25-year-old Kate Upton in the last movie I saw him in, so this is more like it! So, would you like to see Book Club EARLY and FOR FREE? Or would your Mom like to see it for Mother’s Day? The screening IS on May 13th, after all! Continue reading →

FREE MOVIE PASSES: Take Your Kids to a FREE SCREENING of “Show Dogs”

It’s been a while since we’ve had a straight-up Kids’ Flick to talk about, and Show Dogs definitely fits the bill. This one stars Chris “Ludacris” Bridges as a police dog who has to go undercover at a dog show to stop a bad guy. Will Arnett also stars, along with some pretty high-powered voice-talent, including Stanley Tucci, Alan Cumming, Shaquille O’Neal and RuPaul. If you’d like to take your kids to a Saturday screening of Show Dogs, Continue reading →

STARZ VIDA

See STARZ “Vida” on the Big Screen for FREE!

I absolutely LOVE IT when great TV shows are displayed on a movie screen. Especially when it’s a series that benefits from the theater experience, like VIDA. Now, I haven’t seen it yet, but the crowds who saw VIDA at SXSW this year liked it enough to make it the Audience Award winner.
VIDA tells the story of two Mexican-American sisters, Emma (Mishel Prada) and Lyn (Melissa Barrera), from the Eastside of Los Angeles who couldn’t be more different from each other. Circumstances force them back to their old neighborhood, where they are confronted by the past and the surprising truth about their mother’s identity. The series will premiere on May 6th but you can see the first 2 episodes EARLY and at Studio Movie Grill! If that sounds fun to you, Continue reading →

Charlize Theron

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See Charlize Theron in “Tully” EARLY & FOR FREE

My kids are a little older and I occasionally see things that make me grateful for that.
Just today, I was enjoying a quiet walk by the lake when I came across a Mom who was screaming at four kids, all around three-years-old. She was furious and exhausted but, not matter what she said, those little monsters kept riding their trikes through the mud. A block past her was another Mom, who was trying to leave the park while her tiny daughter threw an impressive fit, flat on her back. I saw a woman at the mall an hour later, who’s pregnant belly was so big, it looked like she could burst and go flying around the Food Court, like a popped balloon.
The trailer for Tully also makes me so SO grateful that my kids are older.
Charlize Theron plays a Mom who’s just trying to get through those difficult early-years because…well, they can be kind of awful. Her brother surprises her with a night-nurse named Tully, who helps ease her around the tough spots. Yes, it’s a simple plot that doesn’t sound that intriguing, but watch the trailer below. If you can get through it without tearing up, then maybe your new-Mommy years were much easier than mine. If, on the other hand, it resonates with you the way it did with me, Continue reading →

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Rampage” EARLY & FOR FREE

Honestly, the first time I saw the trailer for Dwayne Johnson’s new movie Rampage, I thought it was a joke. I mean, The Rock has a pet gorilla that goes radioactive and starts destroying a city? Then a giant, flying werewolf gets involved and the only person who can save us is, of course, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson? It just SOUNDS like something from Saturday Night Light, right? But I felt the same way about San Andreas when I saw the trailer, and I ended up liking that movie. I also rolled my eyes so hard it hurt when I saw The Rock in the new Jumanji trailer, and I kind of loved that one. So who knows? Maybe Rampage will end up being fantastic, but we should probably see it FOR FREE, just in case. Continue reading →

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Ready Player One” EARLY & FOR FREE

If you aren’t excited about Ready Player One, I don’t even know what to say.
It’s directed by Steven Spielberg and is based on the popular novel by Austin’s own Ernest Cline. It stars Texan Tye Sheridan as a kid who has to save a virtual-reality world that’s drenched in ’80’s pop-culture. That means you should watch for references from Back to the Future to The A-Team to those awesome flowerpot hats that Devo wore. If you’re still not excited, then you probably shouldn’t bother with these passes to see Ready Player One EARLY and FOR FREE. Continue reading →

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See Alicia Vikander in “Tomb Raider” EARLY & FOR FREE

Have you noticed how many bad-ass women there are in movies right now? I’d hate to call it a TREND because I don’t want to see it go away, but I think Wonder Woman might have shaken movies execs awake. Since then, we’ve seen Charlize Theron play a lady-John Wick in Atomic Blonde, Tessa Thompson as a Valkyrie in Thor: Ragnarok, and ALL the women of Black Panther kick tremendous ass. That’s why it seems highly appropriate to introduce Alicia Vikander as our new Laura Croft in Tomb Raider. Vikander is tiny, but she wanted to be taken seriously in the role of video-adventurer so she bulked up with weight training and performed her own stunts. See? Total bad-ass! So, do you want to see the new Tomb Raider EARLY and FOR FREE? Continue reading →
