Imagine meeting the love of your life, who then asks you to sail across the ocean with him? Sounds pretty romantic doesn’t it? Well, that’s exactly what happened to Tami Oldham and it was just as beautiful as it sounds, until they sailed right into a massive hurricane. Oldham wrote a book about their journey, called Red Sky in Mourning: A True Story of Love, Loss and Survival at Sea, which has been turned into the movie Adrift (starring Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin). If you think you don’t want to see War for the Planet of the Apes, you should probably do what I’m doing with my daughters this weekend; watch the first two movies again.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014) were both lauded by critics (OK, Dawn way more so than Rise) and featured excellent performances by Andy Serkis.
