FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Deadpool” On Me!

Can I tell you how ticked-off my 11-year-old is about NOT GETTING TO SEE Deadpool? She simply can’t believe that anyone would release an R-rated Marvel Movie, and though I sympathize with her…I love it.

According to the press release Ryan Reynolds plays “former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.” I don’t relish the idea of what happens to Ryan Reynolds’ pretty face, but this looks like loads of fun and GUESS WHO HAS FREE PASSES! The screening is February 12th and YES, there will be a line to get in so show up early. Click HERE for your passes, then take a minute to watch the trailer. Do it AWAY from the kids though because it, like the movie, IS RATED-R…which means they can’t see it. (evil laugh)

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Freeheld,” Starring Ellen Page & Julianne Moore

Freeheld is based on the true story of New Jersey Detective Laurel Hester (played by Julianne Moore), who was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. She fought the legal system so her pension could be left to her domestic partner Stacie Andree (Ellen Page), but county officials conspired to keep her from doing so. This sounds like the makings of an Oscar contender, doesn’t it? It’s even based on an Oscar-winning short documentary. Best of all, you can see Freeheld for FREE! All you have to do is click HERE to snag those passes, then take a moment to watch the trailer. Looks like you should probably take some Kleenex to this one, too. (sniff!)

(This website is funded by the ads it runs. If you see something you like, please click on it. Sorry, but a girl’s gotta eat.)

BLOG: Discounted Jeans & Goodie Bags from “Madewell”

I’ve made no secret about loving the clothes at Madewell. In fact, I usually feel like a dork when I shop there because odds are, I’m already wearing something FROM there. Anyhow, I dropped by yesterday because they were having a preview of their Fall Line. I had several questions for them anyhow, like A) will all the flannel I bought last year still work this year and B) are they still taking old jeans for discounted new ones? I got a resounding YES for both questions so you can start digging out those old jeans now. I wrote a blog about this back in January (find it HERE) and people have been hitting that post every day SINCE. Here’s the jist: Donate an OLD pair of jeans to Madewell and they will have it turned into housing-insulation for the needy. Madewell will give also you $20 off a new, regular-priced pair of jeans in exchange. I wasn’t sure how long they’d be offering this deal back in January but I found out yesterday it will continue through the end of the year.
