Scary Stories

Free Passes to “Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark” from HAUNTED AF!

I love seeing, reviewing and writing about movies but my side-hustle is my guilty pleasure: Ghost stories!
That’s why I started the Haunted AF podcast with my friend Rebekah Black, who also loves a good scary story. We just started Season 2 and have had terrifying TRUE tales, from ghostly voices inside the Lizzy Borden house to what might be actual ghost photos. It’s not all chills though, like this story about a ghost ape who’s really into self-pleasure.
Please subscribe to our podcast at Hauntedaf.com and grab some passes to see Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark while you’re there. Then check out the trailer below. Dang…this looks way scarier than that nasty monkey story!

A Haunted Night on The Queen Mary (A Secondhand Ghost Story)

Twice in my life, I’ve been woken by things I can’t explain.

The first time was about 4 years ago, when I was roused by something tickling my foot. I pulled my leg back under the covers and sat straight up in bed, but there was nothing there. The second time, I woke up crying out in pain because something was pinching my calf. Again, there was nothing unusual in my room and no signs of trauma on my leg, though it hurt like hell.

I was fully asleep in both instances though, and can’t be sure they didn’t stem from dreams. I’m also prone to vivid nightmares, which could have played a part in the realness of it all. In other words, even I, the person who experienced these things, can’t vouch for their validity. They ARE the reasons, however, that a friend’s recent story piqued my interest.

Mark Walters is a fellow Film Critic and an all-round good-guy (You can-and should-find his website at www.bigfanboy.com). He’s one of my favorite movie-buddies and we compare notes about films on a regular basis. Mark is also about as no-nonsense as you can get. He doesn’t over-exaggerate and isn’t prone to hysterics (like SOME people…me), so I was shocked to hear his recent story of paranormal activity. Continue reading →

BLOG: Ghostly Visits From Mom (Or Was it John Denver?)

The stories I’m about to tell are going to make me sound completely insane (this should come as no surprise to anyone). They involve 2 ghostly nighttime visits; One that happened over a year ago and one that occurred just last night.

The visit last year woke me with a tickle on the bottom of my foot. I giggled at it at first but stopped when I realized my husband was still asleep and my cats didn’t have fingers. I was on a radio show at the time, where we often talked to a “Psychic to the STARS.” I asked what SHE thought had happened in my room that night and she said, “Oh, that was John Denver. He’s your Spirit Guide and was just checking in with you.” Continue reading →
