Need something new to watch? Maybe another sofa activity that won’t lead to self-loathing. What? I was referring to your habit of eating cake icing directly from the tub. Or is that just me? Well, COVID-19 might be a horrific pandemic but it couldn’t have come at a better time, with all the TV there is to watch. I’m joking, of course, but you’ve wanted to catch up on the shows and movies people were talking about. Now you’ve got the time. Continue reading →
It’s January so I have the lowest-of-LOW expectations for any film coming out right now. I was surprised to see a Guy Ritchie movie was being released, and even more shocked by its sparkling cast (Hugh Grant, Matthew McConaughey, Colin Farrell, Charlie Hunnam and Henry Golding). Ritchie has directed some stinkers though (namely King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) so I assumed The Gentlemen would fall in that same column. Continue reading →
Off the top of your head, name the last Guy Ritchie movie to hit theaters? Think you know? It was actually the live-action version of Alladin, which surprised most of us by being really good. Ritchie is back in his familiar wheel-house though, with the British gangster-comedy The Gentlemen. Starring a cast of favorites, like Hugh Grant, Colin Farrell and Matthew McConaughey, it follows the sale of an English drug empire to a family of Oklahoma billionaires (which explains McConaughey’s involvement). Best of all, I have passes to see The Gentlemen in cities all over the state! Continue reading →
I know what you’re asking yourself today.
What am I supposed to do AFTER I’ve seen Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2?
Well, you could go see another movie (after you’ve seen GOTG2 a second and third time, of course). Believe it or not, there ARE other films opening this month and some of them look fantastic. I was on Good Morning Texas last week, discussing the phenomenon of movies that AREN’T Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and you can watch that by clicking HERE. I didn’t get a chance to cover every interesting movie that’s opening this month, so I made a handy list for you with links to purchase tickets. Find that below, and remember that we won’t judge if you panic and just go see that new Guardians movie again. Continue reading →
When King Arthur: Legend of the Sword was pitched to the studios, it was described as Guy Ritchie’s Snatch meets The Lord of the Rings movies.
How freaking incredible does that sound?
This retelling of the Excalibur tale portrays King Arthur (Charlie Hunnam) as a street thug, roaming the back alleys of Londinium after losing his family and crown to an evil dictator (Jude Law). It’s supposedly the first in a six-part series, so you’d better go ahead and jump on the bandwagon now. Lucky for you, I’ve got passes to see King Arthur: Legend of the Sword EARLY and FOR FREE. Anyone who makes a Cold War movie in 2015 better have an interesting take on it because we’ve seen every Russia VS America flick imaginable. Director Guy Ritchie makes HIS Cold War picture different by casting two of the most beautiful men in Hollywood, Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer. If you’re a grown woman who relishes any chance to stare at these men (like me), that might be enough. If you need something more than foxy dudes in your movies, you might be yawning before the first fake Russian accent kicks in. Continue reading →
Have you seen the trailer for Guy Ritchie’s latest movie The Man From U.N.C.L.E.? Holy Balls, just look at THIS:
Yes, that’s Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer playing a CIA Agent and KGB Operative who’re forced to work together. Two of the HOTTEST dudes in movies today AND they’re joined by the phenomenal Alicia Vikander, who absolutely KILLED IT in Ex Machina. It’s not opening in theaters until August 14th but GUESS WHO HAS FREE PASSES TO SEE IT NEXT WEEK! Continue reading →
