Deepwater Horizon – This movie is completely split down the middle for me. The first half introduces us to the crew of the offshore drilling rig Deepwater Horizon, and informs us that something is horribly wrong. On April 20th, 2010, the world’s largest man-made disaster occurred on an off-shore drilling rig in the Gulf of Mexico. The Deepwater Horizon exploded and created the largest oil-spill in history AND took 11 lives in the process. Director Peter Berg tells the Deepwater Horizon story with the help of Mike Williams (played by Mark Wahlberg), who actually survived the explosion.
