Seems like the perfect weekend for a movie, doesn’t it? If you agree and are about to dump a pile of cash at a theater, make sure it’s for something GOOD. Here are the “Julie Says So” TOP 5 MOVIES to See Right Now, and stay to the end for some Scary Movie options. Continue reading →
I’ve watched the trailer for Bad Times at the El Royale a handful of times now and I still can’t figure out what’s going on. It’s hard to worry about a cast that’s THIS GOOD, though. You’ve got Jeff Bridges, Jon Hamm, Nick Offerman and Chris Hemsworth, who’s apparently forgotten how to button a shirt (not complaining, just noting). Dakota Johnson’s in the mix too and, as I’ve stated a few times already, she’s vastly underrated as an actress. Bad Times at the El Royale is also from Writer/Director Drew Goddard, who’s responsible for mind-benders like Cabin in the Woods, Cloverfield and several episodes of Lost. I think this is the type of movie that you learn as little as possible about before seeing it. Even better, how would you like to see it EARLY and FOR FREE? Continue reading →
Think for a minute about some of the stupid things you did with your friends when you were a kid? Now image that you continued that nonsense into adulthood and raised the stakes even higher. Well, that’s exactly what Tag is about and, believe it or not, it’s based on a true story.
Jeremy Renner, Jon Hamm, Ed Helms, Hannibal Buress and Jake Johnson star as classmates who’ve been playing the same game of Tag for thirty years. This continuous battle has taken them all around the world, but one of them is ready to retire. Will his buddies let him? Does it really matter if you’re seeing Tag EARLY and FOR FREE? No, it isn’t Boss Baby. It isn’t Baby Mama, either. While we’re at it, Baby Driver isn’t Bridget Jones’s Baby, Rosemary’s Baby or any other BABY movie that would make you readily dismiss it. Baby Driver is actually the latest from Writer/Director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Scott Pilgrim vs the World) and it tells the story of a young get-away driver who is pulled into a dangerous heist. Ansel Egort plays Baby alongside a cast including Jamie Foxx, Kevin Spacey, Flea, Jon Hamm and a whole host of other people you’d like to have drinks with. If you still aren’t interested in Baby Driver, know that critics are FLIPPING OUT over it. Here’s just one of the raves from Jada Yuan at Vulture.com:
“Plays out like blasting your coolest friend’s record collection in your car at 100 mph on the Atlanta freeway while cops close in on all sides – essentially what happens in the movie again and again, to always-riveting effect.”
So, NOW do you want to see Baby Driver EARLY and FOR FREE? Continue reading →
I joined Jane McGarry on Good Morning Texas today to talk about all the big October Movies we have to look forward to. We chatted about Tom Cruise in Jack Reacher: Never Go Back, and how I have an awful Girl Crush on his co-star, Cobie Smulders. We also talked about Jon Hamm in Keeping Up With the Joneses and some scary flicks that are coming out just in time for Halloween. Click HERE to watch the segment, then head over to my Free Movie Passes page to see what’s up for grabs. Remember to subscribe to the website so you’ll never miss a free movie!
Those of us who didn’t get enough Gal Gadot in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice are in luck. She’s back in Keeping Up with the Joneses and she brought along Jon Hamm, another face we haven’t seen enough of lately.
Keeping Up with the Joneses stars Zach Galifianakis and Isla Fisher as a suburban couple whose new neighbors are the impossibly stylish Gadot and Hamm. Are they really that perfect, or do the Joneses have something to hide? Well, you already know the answer to that.
If you’d like free passes to see Keeping Up with the Jonese, just click HERE, then watch the trailer below. And check out Zach Galifianakis, who lost over 50 pounds before filming this movie! I honestly didn’t even recognize him at first!
I joined my friends at Good Morning Texas today, to talk about The 2016 Golden Globes and it was SO MUCH FUN! Seriously, I wish I could get up every morning and talk trash about celebrities with Jeanette Chivvis, Victoria Snee and Jane McGarry. The only thing I would change is the hair, make-up and clothes part because that’s REALLY STRESSFUL. Maybe we could just sit around in bathrobes, with our hair pulled back and clay-masks on our faces. That’s way more my speed!
We started by discussing The Revenant, and all the awards it scored at the Globes. We mentioned Arthur Redcloud from Colleyville, who plays a major role in the movie, and an article about him that ran in Guidelive recently. That was written by my friend Tommy Cummings, and you can read it by clicking HERE. Then watch us drool over Michael Fassbender and fight about Jennifer Lawrence’s cut-out dress by clicking HERE. Can’t wait until the Oscars!
Got up bright and early to talk about the 2015 Emmy Awards on Good Morning Texas and BOY was I nervous! Mostly because I stayed up late WATCHING the Emmys, which is probably why I had a massive brain fart just before we went live and forgot Peter Facinelli’s name. Luckily, I remembered all of the other Texas Connections, of which there were several on Emmy night. Here’s a link to the video if you missed it and thanks to Jane McGarry and everyone at Good Morning Texas for having me on! http://www.wfaa.com/videos/entertainment/television/programs/good-morning-texas/2015/09/21/72566108/ Continue reading →
Am I the only one who thought Gru created the Minions?
Well, we were wrong because according to Minions the movie, they evolved like everything else. They even walked out of the sea speaking their own weird language, which appears to be a mix of French, Spanish, English and Drunk. It’s unclear if the Minions procreated over time (I couldn’t find a single female in the bunch) but they spent the rest of their existence on Earth searching for a Bad Guy to serve. Minions the movie, you see, takes place pre-Gru, so they have yet to find their ultimate Master. A few scouts are sent in search of one, which is why Kevin, Stuart and Bob end up in 1960’s London, courting Scarlet Overkill as their new Villain. Continue reading →
