I joined Jane McGarry and Alanna Sarabia today on Good Morning Texas to discuss the big November movies everyone should watch for. Since it’s Halloween, they also asked me to show up in costume and talk about my favorite SCARY movies. I learned a number of things from the costume I wore today (see above), namely that Kylo Ren is forever shutting his skirts in car doors and struggling to keep them out of toilets. Click HERE to watch the segment, and remember to check the Julie Says So FREE MOVIE PASSES page to see what I’m giving away next. I’m also posting the Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri trailer below, since we discussed it today. Be warned that it is PACKED with really REALLY foul language, which is probably why I love it so. Continue reading →
I was essentially an adult when the first Beauty and the Beast came out, so I’m not sure why I have such a connection to it. I didn’t grow up watching it and my daughters, who despise most Disney princess movies, always said “NO” when I suggested it. That didn’t stop me from bawling the first time I saw the trailer for the new Beauty and the Beast. It wasn’t the casting of Emma Watson that did it, or the image of a live-action Lumiere. No, it was the sound of that original opening song that did me in.
This is why I was more than a little concerned about a NEW Beauty and the Beast. How could anyone remake this classic, much less improve it? If I were honest, I’d say that I fully expected it to suck.
You’ll notice from the opening song though, that THIS Beauty and the Beast has no intention of sucking. Continue reading →
You know what’s great? Seeing a movie you THINK is going to be mediocre and then you end up having a blast. You know what’s even better? When you go with your KIDS and they experience the EXACT SAME THING. My girls weren’t excited about seeing Pixels. Why? I don’t really know. They don’t suffer from the same Adam-Sandler-Migraine their mother does so I don’t have a good answer. They ARE self-proclaimed gamers however and consider the games I played as a kid (Pac-Man and Tetrus specifically) as “OLD SCHOOL.” They also like the way I cringe whenever they call it that. But even they (the jaded-little-monsters that they are) walked out of Pixels with a smile on their face and a skip in their step. It’s hard NOT to when you see a movie that’s this much FUN! If you AREN’T excited about seeing Adam Sandler’s new movie Pixels, maybe you should take a look at THIS. It’s some behind the scenes footage Sandler himself caught on a GoPro.
NOW you want to see it, right? Well, that’s awesome because I just happen to have free passes to a screening this Tuesday (7/21). Just click HERE for those and I’ll see you there! Oh yeah, I have kids who are full-blown gamers so they’re DEMANDING to see it.
