I can’t honestly say I was that jazzed to hear they were making a new Predator movie. I mean, how many is that now? Maybe 6, including the Alien vs. Predator movies? It isn’t really a bandwagon I’ve ever jumped on, but then I saw the cast. Sterling K. Brown, Keegan-Michael Key, Olive Munn and Boyd Holbrook (sooo creepy in Logan) are all starring in it. Even little Jacob Tremblay (who should’ve gotten an Oscar nomination for his role in Room) is in The Predator, so it’s got to be kind of good, doesn’t it? Well, it won’t matter either way if we get to see it EARLY and FOR FREE. Continue reading →
Are your kids out of school for the summer? Do you wake every morning to the sounds of “What are we going to do today, Mom/Dad? What are we going to DOOOO???” Are you running out of cash, spending every last dollar on “Something to Do” so you’re constantly-bored-offspring will give you a moment of peace? If so, I’m about to be your new best-friend because I have passes to see Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation EARLY and FOR FREE! Continue reading →
It’s officially Christmas, now that Halloween has passed.
I know this for a FACT because I went to the mall today and they were already putting up Christmas decorations. True story. I also know it’s officially Christmas because I just got a bunch of free passes to a holiday movie called The Star. This one stars Tyler Perry, Kristin Chenoweth, and Steven Yeun and tells the story of Dave the Donkey, who apparently saved Jesus somehow. Look, you could overthink it and fight the onslaught of Christmas OR you could just trade that Pumpkin Spice Latte in for a Peppermint Mocha and roll with it. Continue reading →
Bryan Cranston has turned into a hero of mine. He already was, of course, after I plowed through all seasons of Breaking Bad AND re-watched Malcolm in the Middle with my kids. Cranston went to near-legendary status in my mind though, after leaving an autographed book at DFW Airport. It was later found by “Kenna,” who dutifully lost her mind over it on Twitter and incited rage-inducing jealousy in us all.

People complain all the time that Hollywood has run out of ideas. “That’s why we keep seeing sequels and remakes,” they tell me, but that was before Storks. In this movie, storks no longer deliver babies and focus on internet sales instead. It proves to be lucrative until someone accidentally makes a baby. Now one stork must find a home for it, with the help of the only human on “Stork Mountain.”
Yeah, I’ve definitely never heard that story before.
Storks comes from the same studios that gave us The Lego Movie and it stars Andy Samberg (whom we all have secret crushes on, right?). Jennifer Aniston also makes an appearance and she hasn’t voiced a character since The Iron Giant in 1999 (SEE IT if you haven’t already). If you’d like see Storks EARLY and FOR FREE, click HERE to grab your passes, then watch the trailer below. See? They’ve definitely never made THIS movie before!
Don’t you hate it when you finally get to the theater but end up wasting money on some lousy flick that wasn’t worth the hours spent watching it? NEVER AGAIN my friend, all thanks to the Julie Says So Top 8 Movies to See RIGHT NOW! There’s eight of them, so surely you can find one in there that’ll make you happy. Continue reading →
Don’t Think Twice is about an Improv Comedy Troupe that’s struggling to make it in New York City. That’s appropriate because I responded to it very much like I did the last Improv show I attended. I was apathetic and mildly annoyed with the first 10 minutes, but was laughing through tears and signing up for classes by the end.
Mike Birbiglia is the Writer-Director behind Don’t Think Twice, but he also stars as Miles. Miles is the driving force behind The Commune improv group, but he’s consistently overlooked when execs come seeking new talent. The rest of the troupe is played by recognizable faces like Keegan-Michael Key (Key & Peele) and Gillian Jacobs (Community). Kate Micucci, Tami Sagler and Chris Gethard also star but were new to me. That might be why I found them more believable as undiscovered comedians. They share an apartment and alternately support and harangue each other, while reaching for the brass ring of late night TV. It’s all pizza and bong hits until the group loses their theater AND one of their members to Weekend Live (an obvious hat-tip to Saturday Night Live). Continue reading →
Rebekah Black and I saw Keanu (starring Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele) together but we had VERY different opinions about it. Listen to us hash those out while we eat tacos. Don’t worry, we chew with our mouths closed. Shout out to Velvet Taco for making our delicious lunch! Maybe they’ll give us some FREE tacos next time. Yeah, that’ll never happen.
If you have children, you were probably forced to see Hotel Transylvania with them back in 2012. Fortunately for all of us, the Adam Sandler-Selena Gomez flick ended up being sweet and pretty darn fun to watch. This time around, Dracula has to keep his daughter and grandson from moving away from the hotel and leaving him all alone (sad-bat-face). It features the voices of great folks like Andy Samberg and Steve Buscemi again, but this time Mel Brooks joins the cast as Dracula’s Dad. That ALONE makes Hotel Transylvania 2 worth watching! Take a look at the trailer below and click HERE for your free passes. The screening is THIS UPCOMING SATURDAY so make your plans and I’ll see you there!
