I was positively giddy about the 2022 Oscar Nominations that were just released! If you happened to catch me on WFAA‘s Good Morning Texas, you could probably tell by the way I struggled to find my words (not my finest performance, folks). If you didn’t see it, click HERE to watch the highlights and low-points of this years nominations. Remember, you can still find several of the nominated films on streaming services and follow my social media posts for updates about added theatrical runs.

It’s the weekend before Halloween and the perfect time for a SCARY MOVIE! Or maybe you’d prefer something that isn’t scary, if you’re a big chicken (yes, I’m making clucking sounds at YOU). Either way, don’t buy any tickets before looking over the Julie Says So TOP 5 MOVIES to see now. We can’t have you wasting money on some garbage-movie.
5. I didn’t think Jonah Hill did anything between films that didn’t involve a bong, but I was wrong. He actually wrote and directed a movie called Mid90’s which is far better than it deserves to be, since you’re just watching a kid get his butt kicked repeatedly. Continue reading →
Seems like the perfect weekend for a movie, doesn’t it? If you agree and are about to dump a pile of cash at a theater, make sure it’s for something GOOD. Here are the “Julie Says So” TOP 5 MOVIES to See Right Now, and stay to the end for some Scary Movie options. Continue reading →
Be honest. You were going to see A Star is Born no matter WHAT the critics said, weren’t you? The fact that I’m giving Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut an A+ means diddly because you probably purchased tickets last week.
We all know that YOU are going to see A Star is Born, but the real question is
can you take your kids?
Well, I’ve seen this Bradley Cooper-Lady Gaga love-story and I can tell you that the Motion Picture Association of America has once again jumped-the-gun with an R-rating. A Star is Born is an appropriate movie for SOME kids, but certainly not all of them. Continue reading →
Guess what? I saw A Star is Born last week. What do you need to know about it? Nothing, other than the fact that it’s wonderful! Oh, and you should also know that I have FREE PASSES to see it before it opens in theaters 10/5. Continue reading →
The 2016 Oscars will air this Sunday at 7:30 Central and the world is can barely contain it’s excitement!
Okay, that’s not really true. Most people are apathetic about this year’s nominees and the #OscarSoWhite controversy threw even more cold water on everything. I thought I’d spice things up with a good old-fashioned Oscars Drinking Game, so we’d have something to do when we weren’t making fun of everyone’s gowns and make-up choices. Before we get good and drunk though, I think we should address the old, white elephant in the room with our very first rule.
RULE #1: Take a shot of plain water anytime emcee Chris Rock makes a joke about the lack of diversity amongst Oscar voters and nominees. I suspect he’ll be at it all night, so this would be a good opportunity to hydrate. Continue reading →
Got up bright and early to talk about the 2015 Emmy Awards on Good Morning Texas and BOY was I nervous! Mostly because I stayed up late WATCHING the Emmys, which is probably why I had a massive brain fart just before we went live and forgot Peter Facinelli’s name. Luckily, I remembered all of the other Texas Connections, of which there were several on Emmy night. Here’s a link to the video if you missed it and thanks to Jane McGarry and everyone at Good Morning Texas for having me on! http://www.wfaa.com/videos/entertainment/television/programs/good-morning-texas/2015/09/21/72566108/ Continue reading →
