Fighting with My Family stars Florence Pugh as a girl who’s born into a pro-wrestling family, then follows her dreams to join the WWE. If that sounds far-fetched to you, then you’ll be surprised to know that Fighting with My Family is based on a true story and 2012 documentary of the same name. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson plays himself but he worked behind the scenes as well, executive-producing while British actor/writer Stephan Merchant directed. There’s an excellent cast too, including Nick Frost (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones, The Purge) and Vince Vaughn (Wedding Crashers, Hacksaw Ridge) as an American WWE scout, who visits London in search of new talent. Wrestling fans already know how the story plays out, but the rest of us are in for some sweet and occasionally sad surprises. So, who wants to see Fighting with My Family EARLY and FOR FREE? I just talked to my buddies Trudi & Jim at WCSX Detroit about all the movies that are coming out this week. Well, we got a little sidetracked talking about Michael Fassbender’s unit, but we mostly discussed The Choice, Hail, Caesar! and Pride Prejudice and Zombies. You can listen to that by clicking HERE, then take a minute to cruise the website for Free Movie Passes. I can hook you up with Zoolander 2 and How To Be Single freebies, so don’t leave without grabbing those!
Not very long ago, I wrote an article about the movies I’m REALLY excited to see in the next 6 months. If you missed it, you can find that by clicking HERE (and you should because I had a blast writing it).
One of the films I gushed about was Pride, Prejudice and Zombies, which is obviously the Jane Austen story, but with some zombies thrown in for good measure. I’m thrilled about this because it sounds absolutely ridiculous (in the best possible way) and because it stars Lily James and Lena Headey, my 2 most recent girl-crushes.
The screening is February 2nd and you can get your passes by clicking HERE, but get there EARLY. These passes will get you in for free but they won’t reserve your seats. Something tells me that EVERYONE will want to see this one, so get in line ASAP. It’s at the AMC Northpark so at least you can get overpriced drinks from the bar. Print your passes and then watch the trailer below.
