Isn’t it Romantic stars Rebel Wilson as a woman who loathes Romantic Comedies, then conks her head and wakes up in one. There she finds a New York City that’s been coated in candy shell, and that men who previously didn’t notice her are suddenly smitten. She’s been given an updated version of everything, from her job to her clothes to apartment, and she now has a previously non-existent gay best-friend. She distrusts this alternate universe though, and tries desperately to return to the meaner, smellier New York of her home. Continue reading →
I have been forced to watch a Fifty Shades of Grey movie the week before Valentine’s Day for three years in a freaking row! That’s why I am so thrilled the series is behind us and I can spend Valentine’s Day watching something OTHER than unsexy soft-porn, like Isn’t It Romantic! This one stars Rebel Wilson as an unlucky-in-love woman who hits her head and wakes up in a romantic comedy. Is it any good? I have no idea, but it won’t include two people faking their way through a Red Room and that’s all that matters to me! So, who wants to see Isn’t It Romantic EARLY and FOR FREE with me? The Dressmaker stars Kate Winslet as a fashion designer who returns to her small Australian hometown to right the wrongs of her past. She does so by outfitting the town in haute couture, but will it be enough to change their opinions of her?
The Dressmaker has some outstanding names, like Judy Davis and Hugo Weaving, but my FAVORITE bit of casting has to be Liam Hemsworth as Winslet’s potential lover. I’m onboard with any movie where Hemsworth and Winslet could be a THING! If you are too, click HERE to get your free passes, then watch the trailer below. Oh my word, I might have to watch that again!
If you had to pick a Hemsworth, which one would you choose?
If you automatically said CHRIS, than you obviously haven’t seen the trailer for the new movie Independence Day: Resurgence yet. Little brother Liam Hemsworth looks pretty fantastic in it, plus he’s co-starring with Jeff Goldblum. That’s one of the movies I covered this week on the Julie Says So movie segment, which you can watch below. Remember to catch Today with Kandace weekday mornings at 8:30 on KXTA 21, and please let me know if anyone ever does let you pick a Hemsworth. I would hate to miss out on that offer.
I felt pretty sad when I walked out of the theater today, after watching The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. It was similar to the sadness I felt when I finished the final Hunger Games book, but THEN I thought, “Well, at least I have the movies to look forward to.”
Sigh. Continue reading →
OK, so I was pretty disappointed in Mockingjay Part 1 but it’s hard to NOT get a little excited when you watch this. Still have to wait until November 20th to see it, but you can get alerts from Fandango about buying early tickets by clicking HERE.
Oh, and (sniff) Philip Seymour Hoffman? Wasn’t prepared to see him.
