It’s pretty crazy that Only the Brave is coming out right now, when wildfires are raging through California. This movie tells the true story of another historic wildfire though, and the elite group of firefighters who did everything in their power to stop it. Josh Brolin, Jeff Bridges, Miles Teller and Taylor Kitsch all star as the Granite Mountain Hotshots in Only the Brave and, since you and I are such good friends, you get to see it EARLY & FOR FREE. Nothing beats a truly awesome sports movie, does it? You always know how those things are going to end, but you get caught up in them anyway. Bleed for This tells the true story of Vinny “The Pazmanian Devil” Pazienza, who won two world title fights, then severed his spine in a car wreck. Vinny (Miles Teller) is told he might never walk again but he fights to return to the ring with the help of his trainer, played by Aaron Eckhart. Will Vinny make his grand comeback or will he die trying? You probably know the answer, but it’ll be fun finding out anyway. Even better, YOU get to see Bleed for This EARLY and FOR FREE because you know ME! Click HERE to grab your passes then watch the trailer below. Holy crap! Was that Miles Teller in a banana hammock?
What is it about the anti-hero? Why do we love him so much? What is it about watching a good guy go BAD that makes us want to cheer him on?
These are a few of the uncomfortable questions I asked myself while watching War Dogs. Director Todd Phillips has a background in comedy (The Hangover movies, Old School) so he poses these questions between chuckles, but the result is like holding a mirror up to our faces.
You thought that was funny? You want them to succeed in this horrible plan? Why?
War Dogs stars Miles Teller and Jonah Hill as two real-life buds who, through a shift in U.S. policies, become arms dealers. They’re able to smoke-and-mirror their way into a multi-million dollar business, but once the lies start, so does the downward spiral. A major lesson is being taught in War Dogs about the business of WAR and how shady deals are made on the regular. The audience is so caught up in the fun these guys are having though, that we don’t question their morality until everything starts to unravel. Continue reading →
War Dogs is one of those movies that I’m trying to NOT get excited about. Everything I hear about it makes that more difficult, though.
First of all, Jonah Hill and Miles Teller (two of my favorites) play 20-somethings who start dealing weapons and unexpectedly win a 300-million-dollar contract from the Pentagon. That’s a great start but it’s also directed by Todd Phillips, who did all of the Hangover movies. He brought along one of his favorites, Bradley Cooper, to play a shady businessman and who doesn’t love it when Cooper plays the bad guy? Best of all, the whole thing is based on a true story!
Aww, to Hell with it! Let’s go ahead and get all tingly, goose-bumpy excited about War Dogs! Grab your free passes by clicking HERE, then watch the trailer below. Seriously, War Dogs looks almost too good to be true!
Take the Avengers movies and remove everything you liked about them. Take out the witty banter, the intriguing backstories, and the great special effects. Also, suck out as much charisma and sex-appeal as possible from the sexy and charismatic actors. Then insert awkward silences, angry stares and copious plot holes. Voila! You have Fantastic Four!
