PODCAST: “The Hitman’s Bodyguard” Movie Review & “Deadpool 2” Discussion

Rebekah Black and I saw The Hitman’s Bodyguard last night, then had some drinks and fought about Samuel L. Jackson’s real age. We also discussed this week’s Women Texas Film Festival, as well as the tragic news from the set of Deadpool 2 Monday. Check it all out in the podcast and don’t forget to visit the Free Movie Passes page to see what I’m giving away next. Keep your fingers crossed that I’ll get passes to see Stephen King’s It soon!

PODCAST: “The Accountant” Had Us Screaming at the Screen

Rebekah Black and I saw The Accountant last night and had pretty extreme reactions to it. In fact, one of us even started yelling at the movie screen during the film. Here is our review and I’m proud to say that it’s 100% Spoiler Free. Well, at least no one behind us feel asleep and snored through it, like The Girl on the Train last week. Enjoy!

And because we talked about it so much, here’s the trailer for John Wick: Chapter 2. (SQUEEE!)

PODCAST: “The Girl on the Train” Why Do ALL WOMEN Have to be CRAZY?

I saw The Girl on the Train yesterday with my buddy Rebekah Black. I think we were both expecting something like Gone Girl, but with a hint of Grrl Power. Man, we were way off. Listen to our podcast below to hear our thoughts and remember to grab those free movie passes when you’re done!

PODCAST: “Me Before You” Movie Review (Courtesy of the Rockwall/Rowlett Bookclub)

My friend and I were recently trying to list our favorite TEAR YOUR HEART OUT movies and decided that Me, Earl, and the Dying Girl had to be our current #1. We also decided that Autumn in New York had to be at the bottom because what was UP with that age difference?

But where does Me Before You fall on that list? Listen below to find out, but know two things first:

1. Sorry my levels are so bad. I’d like to blame everyone else and say it’s because I was interviewing such a large group. The reality is that I was excited and screaming into the mic.
2. If YOU would like a pair of Bumble Bee Tights, just click HERE & HUE will hook you up.
Have fun and enjoy the movie! Wait, let me rephrase that. Try to enjoy that massive, soul-soaking cry you’re about have!

Julie-Says-So “Keanu” Movie Review (DAMN, that’s a cute kitty!)

Rebekah Black and I saw Keanu (starring Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele) together but we had VERY different opinions about it. Listen to us hash those out while we eat tacos. Don’t worry, we chew with our mouths closed. Shout out to Velvet Taco for making our delicious lunch! Maybe they’ll give us some FREE tacos next time. Yeah, that’ll never happen.

MOMMY-MOVIE-REVIEW: My Kids Review “The Jungle Book”

Kids are spoiled when it comes to movies these days. If I compare what passed as Kids’ Movies when I was young (Benji, Willow, Ernest Goes to Camp) to what kids see today (Inside Out, Zootopia, Big Hero 6), I can’t help but get jealous. Even sweet and beautifully animated films like The Good Dinosaur get tossed into the “Meh” pile because they’re not as great as Wreck It Ralph or Frozen.

And now they have The Jungle Book. Sigh…it almost isn’t fair.

People have been asking me for months if this one is too intense for kids, which is understandable given the snake and tiger-heavy ads. My daughters and I saw The Jungle Book last night though, and can finally answer those questions. There are two things I should mention first, though. If you DO decide to see The Jungle Book, pay the extra money for IMAX-3D. It’s worth it. Also, forgive Lucy for being sassy and surly in this podcast. That kid needed to go to bed!

PODCAST: Talking “The Martian” with Tony Zazza & Cheree

People ask me all the time if I still talk to Tony Zazza. He’s been my on-and-off radio husband for YEARS, but not all radio teams actually LIKE each other off-the-air. I actually DO like Tony though, and have kept in touch with him since he started a new morning show in Melbourne, Florida. He’s at WA1A 107.1 and you can listen to him online by clicking HERE.
I talk to Tony all the time, giving him updates on the radio-gossip around Texas while he tells me how awesome his new co-host, Cheree is. Whatever. (She’s actually really sweet, and pretty too…dammit.) Anyhow, Tony and Cheree have had me on a few times to talk about movies lately and I LOVE IT! It’s like having drinks with your ex-husband and his new wife. Wait, no it’s not like that AT ALL. In fact, Tony recorded our chat about The Martian so you can hear for yourself. You’ll probably want to buy advance tickets to The Martian too, since it’s sure to be a big-seller and you can do that by clicking HERE.
