FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “The House” EARLY & FOR FREE

Read the cast-list of The House and it looks like all of your favorite Parks and Recreation cast members AND Will Ferrel. In fact, Ferrel and Amy Poehler haven’t starred in a movie together since Blades of Glory in 2007. Seems like they should be putting something out yearly, doesn’t it? In this one, they play parents who start an illegal casino in their home to raise money for their daughter’s college tuition. Continue reading →

Cap. Underpants

MOMMY MOVIE REVIEW- “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie”

My youngest daughter actually screamed when we left for school this morning. She was lugging her backpack to the car when a neighborhood kid pedaled past us on his bike. This guy must already be out of school because he was wearing swim trunks and flip flops, and whistled a happy tune as he whizzed past us. It was simply too much for Lucy, who has a week left of school, so she understandably screamed.
It’s this utter exhaustion and school-malaise that will speak to kids who see Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie. Continue reading →

FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie” EARLY & FOR FREE

Is it strange that I read the Captain Underpants books long before I had kids?
My friend (and former 102.1 the Edge co-worker) Jessie Jessup introduced me to these stories about kids who turn their principal into a superhero years ago. I still have a few dog-eared copies left, which is why I was thrilled (and a little apprehensive) when I heard that Dreamworks was making a movie out of them.
Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie stars Kevin Hart and Thomas Middleditch as George and Harold. Ed Helms voices their cantankerous principal, Mr. Krupp who eventually becomes Captain Underpants. Yes, I know all of this sounds ridiculous but that’s exactly WHY the books were so awesome and why the movie just might be.

Free "Sing" Screenings

SING SATURDAY: See “Sing” For Free NATIONWIDE!

I remember going to see Flash Gordon with my cousins back in 1980. We were all in Conway, Arkansas for the holidays and I was the youngest kid in this particular outing. I felt so cool, hanging out with the big girls (even though the Emperor Ming scared me a little) and I love that stupid movie to this day. My point is that everyone LOVES catching a movie over the holidays, especially if they have fun relatives around, and now you can do it FOR FREE. See, AMC Theaters will be offering FREE SCREENINGS of the movie Sing nationwide the Saturday after Thanksgiving (11/26/16). Continue reading →

PODCAST: Talking to Adam Pally from “Dirty Grandpa”

Adam Pally (Happy Endings, The Mindy Project) was in town today and I was lucky enough to hang out with him. Pally was here to promote his new movie Dirty Grandpa with Robert De Niro and Zac Efron, but he discussed everything under the sun with us, from parenting to bowel movements. Adam Pally seriously described his poop to us, which made me love him even more. Thanks to Matt Mungle for joining me in the interview and asking all of the good questions. Click below to hear the interview and then watch the Dirty Grandpa trailer.
