I was on Good Morning Texas recently, talking about all the events you need to hit before the kids head back to school. Yes, it’s already that time! I’ve got everything you need to know about new movies, sports and activities for the kids so watch the segment HERE, then find the links below. Continue reading →
My kids are going to be out for Easter break for 5 straight days!!!
You’d better believe I’ve been looking for fun and CHEAP things to do with them, which is exactly what I shared on Good Morning Texas today. Watch that by clicking HERE, or look below for everything I mentioned, as well as a few I liked but didn’t have time to get to: Continue reading →
It’s Back to School time and kids couldn’t be happier! Ha, right. Mine have been back to school for a whole week now and they’re still fighting tears when I drop them off.
Well, the good news is that the weekend is almost here and some great things are happening to take their minds off the inevitable. I was on Good Morning Texas today to share the fun stuff I found and you can watch that by clicking HERE. I also made a simple Out & About list, for those of you who don’t feel like watching my giant talking head: Continue reading →
I was Out & About on Good Morning Texas this week to talk about fun Halloween events in DFW. There are, OF COURSE, a million haunted houses and haunted forests to hit but we’ve heard rumors of rain all week long. Fortunately, it looks like the worst of it will hit Friday night and be on it’s way Saturday so we can Trick-or-Treat as planned. Rain won’t effect the Freaker’s Ball that 97.1 The Eagle is throwing again this year. Marilyn Manson, The Cult and Theory of a Deadman are some of the bands playing so click HERE for tickets.
If you’d like to watch the Good Morning Texas segment from Wednesday, just click HERE. I got most of my information from the The Dallas Haunted Houses Website, which has just about EVERYTHING cool that’s happening in North Texas this Halloween. It’s also where I found out about the Zombie Safari in Forney, which sounds AWESOME. Their website is http://www.zombiesafari.net/ but I encourage you to watch the Good Morning Texas segment anyway, if only for the last 30 seconds. That’s when Carrie McClure asked me if the zombies on the Zombie Safari were people dressed in costumes. That’s why I’m cracking up in the picture above, after telling her that NO, they were real zombies. Love you, Carrie!
I was on Good Morning Texas again Friday, talking about the fun and off-the-beaten-path events I’ve been finding around North Texas. Did you hear about the Pancake Selfie Express Truck that was in Pegasus Plaza last week? They were taking pictures of people, then scanning them onto pancakes so you could actually eat your face! I don’t know whose warped idea this was but I LOVE it!
Sadly, the Pancake Selfie Express has already left town but there are loads of other cool events you should be checking out. Here are some links to tickets if you’re interested and you can watch me on Out & About by clicking HERE: Continue reading →
I taped this “Out & About” segment for Good Morning Texas when I was there last week (which explains why I’m wearing the same clothes). Honestly, I had NO IDEA what to do with my hands. You can tell, can’t you? I asked the cameraman what I should do with them and he looked over the rims of his glasses at me, like I’d just blown a booger onto his shoe. Maybe I’ll try holding random objects each week, like a Rubix Cube or some My Little Pony figurines, just to keep my hands busy. If you’d like to watch this segment, you can do so by clicking HERE.
One of the coolest things happening this week will be Wednesday night when Michael McDonald comes to town. My favorite Michael McDonald is the one who shows up occasionally on Family Guy, like this:
The REAL Michael McDonald is playing a show at the House of Blues Wednesday night to raise money for OPERATION Finally Home. It’s an organization that builds homes for sick or wounded veterans. They hope to raise enough money from this concert to build two more houses. Click HERE for more details or to buy tickets.
I need to say a quick THANK YOU to Veecaravan for always providing me with the best accessories. They’re having a Pop-Up Shop in a few weeks so make sure you check it out. Personally, I’m snagging more kaftans because they’re gorgeous but feel like you’re wearing pajamas in public, which is what I’d prefer to do anyhow. Click HERE to see what else they’ll be selling.
I started a new segment on Good Morning Texas this week called “Out & About.” It’s a collection of fun upcoming events and I THINK it’s going to be a regular thing. I taped another one for next Friday so pretend you don’t notice that I’m wearing the same clothes. You can watch the first Out and About by clicking the link below.
If you’re interested in any of the events listed, here are some links for more details.

Quick thanks to Kyle Tatum at Blow Salon for the fresh cut and summer highlights. If you’re in the market for a new hair-stylist, you should definitely hit Kyle up. YES, you have to schedule your appointments months in advance but he’s beyond great and totally worth it. I love everyone at Blow but London Michael is also one of my favorites. It doesn’t hurt that both of these men are sweet, gorgeous and have a wicked sense of humor. Go when you can drink some wine while getting your hair did.
