This weeks Julie Says So MOVIE MINUTE podcast covers some big new releases, like Ghostbusters Afterlife and King Richard, as well as the Netflix original Christmas movie, Father Christmas is Back. They also discuss some creepy holiday offerings you should add to your list, including the Elves series and Silent Night. Listen below and then check out the trailer for Silent Night, which hits theaters and AMC+ December 3rd.
We were in dire need of a lighthearted Marvel movie after April’s devastating Avengers: Infinity War, so thank goodness Ant-Man and the Wasp are back and bringing the laughs. This time, Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) and Hope Van Dyne (Evangeline Lily) are attempting to bring her mother (played by a stunning Michelle Pheiffer) back from the Quantum Realm, with the help of Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). A stranger called Ghost threatens their progress while a sleazy billionaire (Walton Coggins) attempts to steal their technology at every turn. Time is running out to save The Wasp’s Mom, and Ant-Man will risk it all (including his own family-life) to save her.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is brought down by the Quantum Physics jargon that’s constantly thrown around, and a side-story involving Ghost and Hank Pym‘s former colleague (Lawrence Fishburne) never makes much of an impact. You’ll have too much fun to care though, thanks to Michael Peña’s Luis. He’s back as Ant-Man’s business partner and he almost steals the whole movie with that crazy, clueless smile. Peña and Paul Rudd’s eye-winking charm bring an airy, sweetness to Ant-Man and the Wasp, while Evangeline Lily brings the brains and brawn. I had a blast watching this movie and gave it a B+, but is it appropriate for your kids? Continue reading →
I know we’re all excited about seeing Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly in Marvel’s Ant-Man and the Wasp, but something’s been bothering me.
Have you gotten a good look at the Wasp’s outfit?
I was a little put-off by the weird boob-cups when I first saw it, so I hit Google to see if I was alone. Imagine my surprise when HelloGiggles.com pointed out something I had completely missed. You can read about that HERE, but you’ll never look at the Wasp in costume without having dirty-thoughts again.
You still want to see Ant-Man and the Wasp though, don’t you? Especially if you can see it EARLY and FOR FREE! Continue reading →
Has there ever been a movie that’s more messed up than Sausage Party? I guess it’s appropriate, after a year of lovely animated flicks like Zootopia and Finding Dory, that we’d get this. I don’t know about you, but I NEEDED something completely wrong right now. Something I didn’t have to take my kids to, which is why I’m THRILLED about Sausage Party. Even better, I have passes to see it EARLY and FOR FREE! Click HERE to snag those, then watch the trailer below. Oh, and if you think it’s bad, go watch the RED-BAND TRAILER for Sausage Party. THAT is some serious corruption!
The only problem with that is some really big movies just opened and people have been asking me about them. I’ve been wondering about these flicks as well so I decided to share reviews from some of my favorite Film Critics WITH you. Makes me seem generous…instead of just lazy.
I’ve been excited about Ant-Man because Paul Rudd can do no wrong in my eyes. I also can’t help but get excited about anything MARVEL does these days. I decided to share Robert Wilonsky’s review of it because he’s my favorite combination: Smart, funny & easy on the eyes. He also likes to share movies with his kid, which I can relate to. His review of Ant-Man got me pretty excited to see it so read that by clicking HERE.
I want to be best friends with Amy Schumer. I want to get drunk with her and run amok and end the evening by prank calling Katie Couric. I’ll have to settle for just seeing her movie Trainwreck. My friend Chase Whale saw this movie at SWSX and he’s been gushing about it ever since. I think he might have even shed a tear or two while writing this review, which is why I simply HAD to share it. You can and ABSOLUTELY SHOULD read his review by clicking HERE.
So THANKS FELLAS for doing the work for me this week. I will be back at it NEXT week though when Pixels hits theaters. I’ve got free passes for that one so make sure you grab those by clicking HERE. I’ll be at that screening with my kids, as well. Just look for the lady with the sunburned face and boat-hair.
