Benedict Cumberbatch "Doctor Strange"

PODCAST: A Breathless Review of “Doctor Strange”

I FINALLY got to see Doctor Strange with my daughter Emma, and my other favorite movie buddy, Rebekah Black. Does it live up to the hype? Is it worth the extra cash to see it in IMAX 3-D? Is there a reason I keep saying “I GOTTA SAY?” Listen to our Doctor Strange podcast to find out! And remember to subscribe to the website so you’ll always know when I’m giving away free movie passes.

PODCAST: “The Accountant” Had Us Screaming at the Screen

Rebekah Black and I saw The Accountant last night and had pretty extreme reactions to it. In fact, one of us even started yelling at the movie screen during the film. Here is our review and I’m proud to say that it’s 100% Spoiler Free. Well, at least no one behind us feel asleep and snored through it, like The Girl on the Train last week. Enjoy!

And because we talked about it so much, here’s the trailer for John Wick: Chapter 2. (SQUEEE!)

PODCAST: “The Girl on the Train” Why Do ALL WOMEN Have to be CRAZY?

I saw The Girl on the Train yesterday with my buddy Rebekah Black. I think we were both expecting something like Gone Girl, but with a hint of Grrl Power. Man, we were way off. Listen to our podcast below to hear our thoughts and remember to grab those free movie passes when you’re done!

PODCAST: “Suicide Squad” Movie Review with Rebekah Black & Tim Vasquez

I got to see Suicide Squad with Rebekah Black and guest-critic, Tim Vasquez last night. Sooo, was it any good? Did it live up to that phenomenal trailer? Was Jared Leto a decent Joker? More importantly, did it wash the taste of the Godawful Batman v Superman out of our mouths? Listen to the podcast to find out, and while you’re here, don’t forget to snag some free movie passes!

PODCAST: “The Conjuring 2” Movie Review (Why I Screamed So Much That Someone Thought I Needed Help)

We finally watched the movie I was most excited about seeing this year, The Conjuring 2. Was it everything I’d hoped it would be? Does it live up to the first movie? Was I screaming so much that someone thought I needed assistance? Listen to find out! I will say I was most disturbed by the picture below, which Michael Hatch showed me right after the movie. It’s supposedly a real photo of the little boy who haunted the Amityville House. It’s also why I only got about 2 hours of sleep last night.

Julie Says So “Captain America: Civil War” Movie Review (How Ant Man Stole the Show)

I saw Captain American: Civil War last night and, I’m not gonna lie, I was crazy pumped. It was extra special though, because I got to see it with my three favorite movie buddies; Rebekah Black and my daughters, Emma and Lucy. You can hear what we thought about the movie in the podcast below and let me be clear. Ant Man didn’t exactly steal the show, but, in a split second, he managed to become our favorite Avenger. Enjoy our review and remember to share your own thoughts on the movie in the Comments, once you’ve seen Captain America: Civil War.

Julie-Says-So “Keanu” Movie Review (DAMN, that’s a cute kitty!)

Rebekah Black and I saw Keanu (starring Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele) together but we had VERY different opinions about it. Listen to us hash those out while we eat tacos. Don’t worry, we chew with our mouths closed. Shout out to Velvet Taco for making our delicious lunch! Maybe they’ll give us some FREE tacos next time. Yeah, that’ll never happen.

My Review of “The Huntsman: Winter’s War” (& Why I’ll Never Show It to Anyone)

Sometimes a movie is so bad, you actually leave the theater a little depressed. Other times you get 15 minutes into the film and realize you can’t watch another second without some form of alcohol in your system. If a movie does both of these things, as The Huntsman: Winter’s War did to me, it’s an extremely bad sign.

Maybe that’s why Rebekah Black and I filmed a movie review afterwards that’s so vile, SO OFFENSIVE, it will never be seen by human eyes.

It started out the usual way, with me seeking out lighting that didn’t make us look like Sea Hags. We launched our review with gripes about The Huntsman‘s almost 2-hour run time, and how alcohol made it bearable but also rendered it very easy to sleep through. Then, we just went ahead and tore into The Huntsmen for being vapid.

The pre-Snow White story of evil Queen Ravenna and her sister Freya sounds interesting enough, but the flat writing wrings any excitement out of it. You’re left with a Frozen/Maleficent hybrid, but one that is sloppy and boring. There’s also the problem of truly terrible CGI, which is reminiscent of “Zuul” from the first Ghostbusters movie. PODCAST: “Hardcore Henry” Is WORTH the Inevitable Nausea

I’m in movie theaters all the freaking time. I see anywhere from 2 to 5 movies a week so it’s pretty great when something totally new comes around, like Hardcore Henry.

This review comes with warnings though, like the scary list of maybes you hear after a pharmaceuticals ad.

Hardcore Henry might make you barf, and if it doesn’t, it will certainly make you think about barfing. It will probably give you a headache, too. There will be moments when you’re totally confused and can’t figure out what the hell is going on. You might even walk out of the theater still unsure of what you just watched.

But you should still go see Hardcore Henry.

Listen to the podcast below and Rebekah Black and I will tell you why. Oh, and we both had to eat a chicken sandwich immediately after the movie, just to settle our nerves. That’s how hardcore Hardcore Henry is! If you need proof, just watch the trailer right below the podcast. See what I mean???

PODCAST: “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” Review (w/ a healthy dose of profanity)

Rebekah Black and I saw Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice last night, then recorded our thoughts about it. I don’t want to give anything away, but we got pretty worked up and eventually started peppering the review with our favorite swear words. That’s why you probably shouldn’t listen to this around your kids and if you listen at work, turn it down REALLY low. Enjoy!
