MOMMY MOVIE REVIEW: Can Kids See “A Star is Born”

Be honest. You were going to see A Star is Born no matter WHAT the critics said, weren’t you? The fact that I’m giving Bradley Cooper’s directorial debut an A+ means diddly because you probably purchased tickets last week.
We all know that YOU are going to see A Star is Born, but the real question is
can you take your kids?
Well, I’ve seen this Bradley Cooper-Lady Gaga love-story and I can tell you that the Motion Picture Association of America has once again jumped-the-gun with an R-rating. A Star is Born is an appropriate movie for SOME kids, but certainly not all of them. Continue reading →

MOMMY-MOVIE-REVIEW: “The Good Dinosaur”- Pixar Has Us Crying In Our Popcorn AGAIN

My daughters think they are EXPERTS when it comes to Kids’ Films. They see every Kid Flick that comes out and since I write about movies, I usually interview them afterwards. My girls also spend time (more than I’m willing to admit here) on TV channels that are devoted to kids, so they’ve seen all the Made-For-TV Kid Flicks as well. They have a broad point of reference and are quicker to voice their opinions about movies that I ever was at that age. That is why I listen closely to their reviews, because they usually mirror what other kids their ages will say.

That said, Emma and Lucy were not excited about seeing The Good Dinosaur. Lucy thought the animation looked rote and Emma said The Good Dinosaur was derivative of better movies, like Ice Age and The Land Before Time.
