Thanksgiving can be a dangerous minefield of political debates and familiar family-squabbles, just waiting to unfold. The best way to avoid them is to sit quietly next to each for a few hours and there’s no better place to do THAT than a movie theater! Of course, there are still plenty of ways to go wrong with the film you chose, so here are the Julie Says So TOP 5 MOVIES to see this Thanksgiving. Continue reading →
There are so many reasons for you to see Knives Out. First of all, see it because it’s an unexpected Murder-Mystery/Comedy/Social Commentary from Writer-Director Rian Johnson (who has clearly used his time since Star Wars: The Last Jedi wisely). See Knives Out also because you won’t often find a cast this solid, with Chris Evans, Daniel Craig, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Plummer, LaKeith Stanfield, Toni Collette and SO many more taking part. Finally, see Knives Out because I saw it last week and had so much fun, I just giddy-grinned all the way through it. And best of all, see Knives Out because I have passes to see it EARLY and FOR FREE! Continue reading →
A handful of “Scary” movies have been released recently that go beyond that genre. Films like A Quiet Place and Get Out might be listed as “Horror,” but I feel their interesting stories take them beyond that, and even encouraged people who aren’t “Horror fans” to see them anyway.
Hereditary is NOT one of those films!!!
This R-rated picture about the death of a family matriarch is beyond terrifying, and might have even set a new industry standard. Continue reading →
Forgive me for the EXTREMELY last-minute nature of these movie passes, but they just fell into my lap. They’re to see xXx: Return of Xander Cage, which stars Vin Diesel as an extreme-athlete-turned-govenment-operative who has to save the world…again. This time, he comes up against the deadly “Xiang,” who’s played by a fantastic Donnie Yen. You might know him from his Ip Man movies, but it’s more likely that you fell in love with Yen as the blind Jedi “Chirrut” in Rogue One: A Star Wars story. So, do you want the passes? Click HERE to grab those, then watch the xXx: Return of Xander Cage trailer below. And BOOM, my Ruby Rose Girl-Crush is rekindled.
I thought Krampus was a joke when I first heard about him. The old German legend about an anti-Santa who came for the BAD kids seemed too deliciously warped to even be true. Then I saw the demented depictions of him and…well, it was love at first sight. I can’t WAIT until the holidays roll around each year so I can post pictures of Krampus, like this one.
You can imagine how excited I was to hear they were making a Krampus movie, but I was apprehensive as well. Could they make something that was scary AND a little funny, like the Krampus legend itself? The cast list hints that they HAVE, with talented actors like Toni Collette and Allison Tolman paired with funny guys, Adam Scott and David Koecher. I’ve watched the trailer at least 15 times though and STILL can’t decide if it looks good. I guess we’ll have to wait until December 4th to find out but until then, check out the trailer below and tell me what YOU think.
