TRAILER PORN: “Midnight Special”

I saw a movie called Take Shelter in 2011, and it rocked my world. It starred Michael Shannon and was directed by Jeff Nichols, and I remember how chills ran up and down my legs as it ended. Take Shelter ended up being my #1 movie of 2011 and I’ve been watching Jeff Nichols ever since.

I can’t tell you how excited I was to hear about his latest project, Midnight Special. It once again stars Michael Shannon and appears to be about a boy with special powers. I know that sounds stupid, but Nichols has the ability to take strange and simple stories and turn them into something beautiful. Add the fact that Adam Driver is also in this and…well, I’m pretty much climbing the walls over it.

Take a look at the brand new trailer while I go try to rein in my expectations. Midnight Special opens March 18th.

TRAILER PORN: “Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising” (I Hate Myself For LOVING This)

I can’t say that I loved the first Neighbors movie. In fact, you can click HERE to listen to my review from KRLD, where I gave it a B-. I thought it was funny, though raunchy as Hell, and I certainly never thought they’d find an excuse to make a Neighbors 2. Well, they have and I’ll be damned if it doesn’t look even funnier than the first one. Take a look at the trailer below and remember that Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising will be in theaters May 20th. I promise to try my hardest to get free passes to this one.

TRAILER PORN: “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” EXCLUSIVE SNEAK

Are you even capable of being excited about anything other than Star Wars: The Force Awakens right now? I get it. I feel the exact same way but they’re releasing a new trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice tonight and it’s hard NOT to get a little jazzed about it (Yes, even IF you’re still pissed at Ben Affleck for the whole nanny thing). That’s going to air on Jimmy Kimmel Live at 11:35/10:35 Central and they even made an exclusive sneak to get us pumped. It doesn’t show Wonder Woman though, so I don’t think it really counts.

Catch the full NEW trailer tonight and if you somehow missed the full-length Comic-Con trailer, take a little look at THIS:

TRAILER PORN: “Krampus” Is Coming!

I thought Krampus was a joke when I first heard about him. The old German legend about an anti-Santa who came for the BAD kids seemed too deliciously warped to even be true. Then I saw the demented depictions of him and…well, it was love at first sight. I can’t WAIT until the holidays roll around each year so I can post pictures of Krampus, like this one.

You can imagine how excited I was to hear they were making a Krampus movie, but I was apprehensive as well. Could they make something that was scary AND a little funny, like the Krampus legend itself? The cast list hints that they HAVE, with talented actors like Toni Collette and Allison Tolman paired with funny guys, Adam Scott and David Koecher. I’ve watched the trailer at least 15 times though and STILL can’t decide if it looks good. I guess we’ll have to wait until December 4th to find out but until then, check out the trailer below and tell me what YOU think.

TRAILER PORN: “The Big Short” Looks Insanely Good!

I just got the trailer for the movie The Big Short and about peed my pants. Don’t ask questions, just watch this:

OK, I’ll admit that I’m a sucker for any trailer that uses Led Zeppelin but seriously…how great does this movie look? The Big Short will have a limited release starting December 11th and opens wide on December 23rd. It’s based on Michael Lewis’ New York Times #1 Best Seller The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine. You can buy it on Amazon by clicking HERE, if you want to read it before the movie comes out. I’ll do everything I can to get free passes for us too. Hey, that’ll be my Christmas present to you!

TRAILER PORN: “The Witch”

Sometimes I like movie trailers just as much as full-length motion pictures.

Sometimes I like them even more, especially when the movie being advertised seems tailor-made just for ME. Case in point: The Witch.

A New England family in the 1630’s moves their farm to the edge of a wilderness. One child disappears and their crops fail soon after. Are they victims of bad luck OR are they being tormented by a malevolent spirit in the woods? Can they save themselves or will they turn on each other, violently?

Writer-director Robert Eggers won the praise of critics AND the Directing Award after The Witch screened at this year’s Sundance Film Festival. We, however, will have to wait until sometime next year to see it. Here’s the trailer and don’t blame me for any freaky goat-nightmares you have afterwards.
