Is it weird that I don’t really CARE if the new Justice League movie is good? My expectations are so low now, after Batman v. Superman and then the shocking let-down that was Suicide Squad. Wonder Woman was a refreshing surprise, but I don’t know if she and that golden-lasso are strong enough to save this whole movie. Jason Mamoa plays Aquaman in Justice League though and, if I were completely honest with you, I’d probably say that’s enough for me. It’s always better to see a potentially disappointing movie for free though, right? Continue reading →
If you’re anything like me, you might be tempted to dismiss Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, simply based on that lame title. You absolutely SHOULDN’T dismiss it though, and here’s why.
Professor William Moulton Marston (played by Luke Evans) was the creator of the Wonder Woman comics, and he was inspired by a dirty-but-awesome little secret he was keeping. Watch the trailer below Continue reading →
If you’re anything like me, you probably take your kids to see every age-appropriate movie as soon as it opens. It started as a way to keep the offspring occupied when they were tiny handfuls, but it’s blossomed into a full-fledged love of film that I get to share with my daughters. That’s why I love it when people ask me AND MY GIRLS about new releases. Rebekah Black and I saw It Comes at Night last night and it left us wildly depressed…in a good way. Is that possible? Listen to the podcast to hear our thoughts about the latest from Texas filmmaker Trey Edward Shults (read more about him HERE). We also have a spirited discussion about Wonder Woman and whether or not women HAVE to like it…because Rebekah Black DIDN’T! Continue reading →
You’ve probably heard by now that Wonder Woman is a good movie. Better than good. In fact, I gave it an A, which is a grade I don’t readily hand out. Director Patty Jenkins finally delivered a proper superhero flick to DC, but the next big question PARENTS will ask is, “Can my KIDS see Wonder Woman?”
There are a handful of factors to consider before taking your youngsters, so let me break them down for you. Continue reading →
Jagger had me on 102.1 the Edge today to discuss Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and…well, it got ugly. I got angry, started ranting and the BLEEP button was used. Often. Sorry about that but it tends to happen any time I try to talk about this movie. Thanks again to Jagger and Josh for having me on and next time, I’ll try to keep it in check.
Rebekah Black and I saw Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice last night, then recorded our thoughts about it. I don’t want to give anything away, but we got pretty worked up and eventually started peppering the review with our favorite swear words. That’s why you probably shouldn’t listen to this around your kids and if you listen at work, turn it down REALLY low. Enjoy!
