We covered some great streaming shows in this episode of the JSS Movie Minute, like the latest season of Stranger Things, Barry, Obi Wan Kenobi and Julie’s new favorite show, I Love That for You. Julie also has some pretty strong opinions about Jurassic World Dominion. Remember to find earlier episode at JulieSaysSo.com and to look through the films available on the Free Movie Passes page! And take a look below at this week’s trailer for the new horror flick, The Menu.
MOVIE REVIEW: Can “It Chapter Two” Do the Impossible? (& Parent Review)
Director Andrew Muschietti is attempting the impossible with It Chapter Two, by recreating a story that was damn-near indecipherable to begin with.
Want proof?
Sit down with five fans of the original Stephen King book and ask them to explain the ending of It. You will probably get five equally confusing answers.
The ending wasn’t the reason we fell in love with It though. Fans like me were pulled in by the young heroes from the first half, who battled evils that were supernatural and man-made. We didn’t care about that second muddy act because we were still riding a high from Part 1. Continue reading →
2018 Emmy’s Break-Down on “Good Morning Texas”
I was on Good Morning Texas today, breaking down all my favorite moments from the 2018 Emmy’s with Jane McGarry, Alanna Sarabia and Holly Quartaro from the Galleria Dallas. Click HERE to watch the segment, but there were TWO important things that I didn’t have time to mention!
First of all, do you remember that strange man who shook Bill Hader’s hand after he won?
If you watch the show Atlanta on FX, you’ll recognize him as Teddy Perkins from what has to be the freakiest episode of that series yet! You can read more about him HERE, or better yet, just go find the Teddy Perkins episode and WATCH IT!
I also wanted to talk about Joe Keery (“Steve” from Stranger Things) and his voluminous mullet. The Twitter-verse just about imploded when he showed up with…wait. Who was he with? I know he had a date but I was too busy looking at that hair.
Feel free to share your favorite moments from the 2018 Emmy’s in the “Comments” below and remember to check the Free Movie Passes page while your here. I hope to have freebies to see A Star Is Born any day now!
FREE MOVIE PASSES: See “Sausage Party” ON ME!
Has there ever been a movie that’s more messed up than Sausage Party? I guess it’s appropriate, after a year of lovely animated flicks like Zootopia and Finding Dory, that we’d get this. I don’t know about you, but I NEEDED something completely wrong right now. Something I didn’t have to take my kids to, which is why I’m THRILLED about Sausage Party. Even better, I have passes to see it EARLY and FOR FREE! Click HERE to snag those, then watch the trailer below. Oh, and if you think it’s bad, go watch the RED-BAND TRAILER for Sausage Party. THAT is some serious corruption!
Mommy-Movie-Review: What My Girls Thought of “The BFG”
I watched The BFG with my daughters last night and we had very different opinions of it. In fact, they got a little angry with me for my critique! When Roald Dahl meets Steven Spielberg and Disney, could anything possibly go wrong? Listen below to find out!
FREE MOVIE PASSES: See Steven Spielberg’s “The BFG” on Me!
Did you realize that The BFG was written by Roald Dahl, directed by Steven Spielberg and released by Disney?
That has to be one of strongest Film Trifectas I’ve ever heard of!
It stars Oscar winner Mark Rylance as a giant who befriends a lonely young girl and brings her to his home in Giant Country. It’s not entirely safe though, because the other giants prefer to eat people. Can their friendship survive, as the other giants become increasingly more dangerous? How can they warn the rest of the world about giants, when no one else believes in them?
The BFG opens in theaters July 1st, which would have been Roald Dahl’s 100th birthday, but you can see it EARLY and FOR FREE! Just click HERE, then watch the trailer below. Oh dear, it’s probably not a good sign that I just cried through THAT.
Goofy-Looking-Hot-Actors Are Having A Moment: MY TOP 5
I’ve been told that I have strange taste in men. Not my husband of course, who is perfectly handsome and who tends to read my blogs when they could get me in trouble (Hi Honey!). Anyhow, whenever I say “Ooo, he’s cute,” everyone else usually makes a stinky-cheese face. But not lately. No, lately I’ve noticed that weird-looking-cute-dudes are all over TV and movie screens. I got a little carried away trying to list them all (because where does Norman Reedus place on the same list as Rami Malek?) so I cut it down to my Top 5 Goofy-Looking-Hot-Actors. (It’s also just an excuse to find pictures of my favorite famous dudes.) Continue reading →
Movies to Get Excited About in 2016
The holidays are over and it’s honestly kind of depressing, isn’t it? There’s nothing to look forward to, except that one glass of wine you get Saturday night because you’re going to lose this holiday weight, dammit!
Well, some great movies are coming out in the upcoming months. OK, I don’t know if they’re GREAT yet, but there’s enough to get mildly excited about during these snowless winter days.

The Revenant- 1/8
People have asked me if this movie is violent. Well, I reviewed The Revenant for WCSX in Detroit and used the words puckered bunghole to describe it. In fact, there’s a bear-attack scene that’s so intense, some people thought the bear was actually raping Leonardo DiCaprio. The Revenant is CRAZY VIOLENT, but it’s also strangely beautiful and will definitely be nominated for something. Hopefully, DiCaprio will even win an Oscar for letting that bear have its way with him.
Kung Fu Panda 3- 1/29
I liked Kung Fu Panda, but I LOVED Kung Fu Panda 2. I wasn’t expecting much from it, and the hint that Po might find his family had me openly weeping as I left the theater. I also CAN’T WAIT to see what happens to the budding relationship between Po & Tigress! Don’t judge me. Continue reading →
