RAPID REVIEW- “Thor: Love and Thunder” Suffers from Its Own Director

Thor: Love and Thunder finds the Norse god at a major crossroads in his life. Without a battle to fight or love to follow, Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is listless and lost. His ex-girlfriend, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) is inexplicably drawn to New Asgard during her own personal struggle and together they must battle a new threat who plans to murder all of the Gods. 

Thor: Love and Thunder has two main issues working against it.

MOVIE REVIEW: Life’s too Hard to NOT See “Thor: Ragnarok”

I’ll talk about Thor: Ragnarok in a moment but first I’d like to address the big picture…
LIFE is hard.
If you need proof, just look around you. Everyone I know is going through something awful right now. I have friends who are fighting cancer, and friends who are caring for parents who are fighting cancer. I have friends who have lost their jobs, and friends who are trapped in jobs that they HATE. I have friends who worry desperately for their children, and who can’t turn the TV on at night because the bad news they see freaks them out even more.
In other words, everything seems to suck right now, for just about everyone.
Don’t we all deserve something GOOD? Don’t we deserve a moment to escape and feel light, or powerful, or maybe to just laugh our asses off?

Top 8 Movies to See THIS WEEKEND

(OK, so I wrote this right before Thanksgiving, but the list still applies. I would only add Jackie with Natalie Portman this week, IF it happens to be playing in your town.)

What are you supposed to do with your relatives, once you’ve eaten all the food and run out of things to talk about? You GO TO THE MOVIES, of course! Marvel Studios is introducing a new hero to their big-screen universe this weekend. He’s Doctor Strange and if your kids are like mine, they’ve been talking about him for months and fully expect to see his movie. Is it kid friendly, though? Will Doctor Strange be safe for the whole family or will it load your youngsters up with interesting new swear-words to try at school?
